I’d like to go after the Fel Werebear form just to have it. I do have a druid that is 80 but it’s just a profession alt, so has no decent gear.
Is this available at any time or do I need to wait until the Legion Timewalking event in Feb? I’ve read conflicting takes on this.
If I can do it at any time, is it actually achievable right now or does scaling make it impossible? Is there any specific gear that I should look to get or a certain ilvl?
If I have to wait until Legion TW, again, is there any specific gear I should farm now?
It’s available at all times. Gear scales down but gem slots are useful as you can get more stats. Also consumables are very useful.
I’d say try it and if you can’t get to the second boss with 3 or less of the big guys get better gear. There are videos where people have farmed gear and they absolutely blow everything up.
Not to sound rude, but the Bear Mage Tower challenge is nothing like it was back in Legion. Almost got it from first try, just forgot that the infernals have knockback, managed to get it on the second try with a fresh level 70 character without even “trying”.
You do not need to farm anyhing specifc (your gear wll scale), just smash your buttons. With the hero talents, it must be even easier now.
Watch guides if needed, for me it was mostly the muscle memory, I did over 400-500 pulls in OG MT for the werebear.
The difficulty greatly depends on the patch version, character lvl, ilvl, enchants, and sockets. If it was easy in DF or TWW week 1, it might not be easy now due to balance and scaling changes always completely breaking legacy content.
I am not quite sure what are you trying to say? It been 6+ years since the OG mage tower got released. You expect that I will remember everything that happened 6 years ago?
Moreover, I did those pulls in the first week of its release when the Nighthold was actual raid tier, and times when we had to grind specific trinkets (Ursoc trinket and DT vers trinket), and spefic legendaries (Increase range of thrash/apply trigger to thrash).
It is by the end of the expansion, people were completing it with basic World Quest gear. Even now, I seen people doing it with trial characters. With the introduction of the hero talents should be even more easier now.
The challenge was always about dealing damage, and to this day, I do not understand which part of that challenge was about proving that you are “good” tank.
Well the fight does have a hard limit on duration and doing more efficient damage let’s you skip large amounts of mechanics. Ofc you do have to also press active mitigation / line up defensives but really the majority of your gameplay optimisation you make whilst progressing are just trying to do more damage to make the fight shorter.
Would be great to hear how you got on. Your current gear and M+ score put you in a different playing field to me but at least you might gauge how doable it is now.
