Just a quick one. Please remove the increased damage when your shield is up. We dont like having to press shield on cd especially when the cd will be shortened by a different talent. It means less firey balls! We like firey balls!

Yeah, it doesn’t fit.
Both Overflowing Energy, along with Accumulative Shielding are very poorly thought out talents and either need to redone or removed.
Overflowing Energy turns barriers into a maintenance buff instead of a defensive ability, taking up GCDs to cast it on cooldown, even when it would be better used to block damage at a different interval.
The trouble is that most of the time your barrier won’t last long, even if you avoid all the environmental effects, there are targeted abilities and stuff like passive AoE damage and M+ affixes (think Bursting), that will quickly deplete the barrier.
Accumulative Shielding defeats its own purpose - to get the maximum effect from it (4.2 second CDR), your barrier has to stay up for 20.8 seconds, but then if your barrier is still up, there’s no reason to refresh it! Even then, your barrier is unlikely to last more than a few seconds in most situations.
We lost Shatter for this.
When did they change this talent? I’ve just checked the talent calc but I’ve somehow missed it.
Overflowing Energy now has nothing to do with Barriers. It’s a flat 10% critical damage increase, as well a minor critical hit % bad-luck protection.
Seems like a no-brainer for all specs, which is kinda nice (hey cool talent!) but kinda sucks (it’s basically mandatory, the illusion of choice).
the tree is very strange.
But in general im not a fan of Fire mage not getting a stun and im also not a fan of Snowdrift.
I think simply snowdrift is designed for PvE, but is a PvP talent.
I think in order for Blizzard to really make mages happy, they have to give Deep Freeze.
By doing exactly this.
Make Snowdrift Baseline for all mage specs. Make a Glyph that allows mages to change Snowdrift to Deep Freeze. Or make Deep Freeze a pvp talent that changes Snowdrift into Deep Freeze.
Deep Freeze = Arena.
Snowdrift = pve.
Snowdrift = rated bg.
I as a mage really miss to play with boomkin’s or Spriests.
snowdrift will be so akward in arena cus of positioning.
