Mage/Druid

I can’t decide… just help me… Should I go and main a druid or mage in Shadowland?
I like the mages visuals, the cloth look… love the covenant cloth look. Like the feeling of mage.

However I love the druids versitality, that I can heal, that I’m hard to kill in PvP. I love the story and lore about druids. However I play bookin and resto… and I feel like if I wanna play a caster, I should go mage because they can burst more damage? …

I love PVP… always on war mode. However I do raid aswell.
Gosh help me out, I hate to go back and forth btw characters.

PLAY WHAT YOU SEE YOURSELF in your fantasy thats it!

Simple as that really.

And all calss,specs can do all content.

Curious, I have the same exact question.

Think I’m gonna go with mage, but that has no bearing on your pick. Just pick whatever ^^

Both classes are boring honestly, i will go with rogue.

How come you’ll go with mage?

I don’t really like melee classes… been thinking about paladin aswell… but I don’t know, it doesn’t feel like me.

Well, for precisely that reason. For PvE purposes, moonkin is looking kindda… sketchy. Not bad, I just don’t like where it’s going. Didn’t like it particularly before either, but it was bearable.

But here’s the thing: If you don’t like melee, and you don’t plan to be back-up tank or healer for your teams, then I think Mage is a great choice. You’ve got far more options in how you want to play it as a ranged DPS.

If you just straight up really enjoy moonkin far more than any mage spec or you want to provide back-up roles, then druid is a solid option.

Yeah that’s the issue. I’ve mained a priest as a healer for three expansions. So I love to heal… So that’s what I meant when I said I loved the versitality with druid.

Gosh. Stupied game… haha giving me anxiety of choosing a stupied class. Haha

If you like healing and ranged DPS, go with Druid. For sure.

You should play what you enjoy the most

I would chose a Druid if I had to decide between the two.

Both classes are good in a Rogue/Mage/Druid team in the arena.

But the Druid can:

  • Tank;
  • Heal;
  • Ranged DPS;
  • Melee DPS;

The mage can only DPS.

Also you probably will want a class that can solo rares as well in SL.
You can always save some secondary gear for tank spec.

That’s why I love playing every spec in everyone of my characters.
When something doesn’t fit my main spec I can always make it fit for another spec.

I hope that helped.
Cheers.

We’re trying to figure out which class that is. That’s the point of the thread :stuck_out_tongue:

If he was asking what does the most DPS or what’s the best objectively, then your response is the correct one though.

Others can’t judge what an individual is going to like. I never understand these tell me what to play threads.

Not to mention most classes with have some changes in SL.

If you want to be only a caster then Mage gives you more options to choose and some useful utility spells, such as portals and making magical food.

Personally, I don’t enjoy levelling as Mage because they can feel kinda fragile. People are always asking me to make portals for them, which can get annoying.

Druids can heal themselves while in combat, have great mobility, immune to polymorph and practically immune to roots. They can switch specs to perform multiple different roles, but its only useful if you want to perform those roles.

Personally, I don’t find boomkin particularly interesting to play, but it works.

I choose Druid for myself, but you are you and I am me.

I’d call my warrior (this toon) my main-main, but I actually switch around a lot and don’t focus super hard on just my warrior, I can stop playing it for weeks because I get really into playing my mage or shaman.

Try doing that instead, unless having a true main is super important to you.
