Mages seem to have gotten some really fun and cool runes to play with, completely transforming the classic mage. But how about the rest? Some classes got the dullest runes imaginable.
Easy way to measure this so far, just youtube wow sod video’s and see the lack of content for most classes.
Enjoying SOD level 25 for phase one is a very nice casual first step to enjoy classic and knowing there will be more is amazing, like reliving the old days with a new expansion right around the corner.
Did they transform mages too much and other classes too little? Or will mages be brought back down to azeroth?
Phase 1 ofc but trying to theory craft where this is taking us.
This post isn’t about what class is better it’s just about what SOD is brought for some but failed to deliver for others. So far.
I think hunter being so popular has everything to do with history, hunters are known to be kings of lower level content. And since it’s only a level 25 cap many re-rolled seeing how strong it was, I mean world first BFD was full hunter dps right?
And not aiming at what is more popular or better, just what classes have been given interesting and fun looking runes. Runes that actually add content apart from using old content or just flat stats/dmg/crit/haste buffs.
Mages just the biggest example I think of having very unique and new abilties, so it’s not a mage vs the rest post, just the best example I think. Had hoped they had done that for more classes.
Eh, if you mean spam regen on urself and spam arcane blast. I wouldnt say its not spammy.
Fire mage did gain 2 new abilities sure in terms of whst it uses, but all classes got a minimum of this.
The primary newness of mage would be the fact it got a healing specc, and sure that can be used as a AoE solo build. But at core it is putting regen on urself and spamming arcane explosion… which is hardly ground breakingm
Did it really? Applying Living Bomb and then doing your standard Fire rotation feels very samey. Mage is one of the weakest classes right now. Terrible DPS, going OOM very fast.
