Magmammoth Mount

In case it helps others with this as it seems terribly buggy. I finally got the mount today. Having done all the prerequisites and bought the harness I just couldn’t find a tamed mammoth that it worked on.

What did work was the one at 33.42 72.07 Burning Ascent. At first it didn’t show as mountable with the green arrow but as soon as I killed the mob sat by it then it would let me mount and use the harness. So it seems we not only need to steal the mammoth if needs to be an aggravated theft!

Good luck if you’re trying for this one. It’s a pretty nice looking mount.

I ended up doing the exact same after the others wouldn’t accept me! You have to kill it’s capturer, get on it and then use the thingy :grinning:

The one I grabbed was by a mob I had to kill too. I imagine it was the same place.

I love the running animation of that mount.

Others I’d been able to mount kept giving me the “you must be on etc etc” message when I tried to use the harness. I was almost in opening a ticket territory when it finally worked. Sorry folks, we have to kill you as a witness to our theft rather than just stealing from you lol.

Is a pretty mount, will have to google this. There’s also a lava slug or something?

It sounds more like a bug with the others rather than something a GM would deal with. We can make bug reports in game.

I must admit my first port of call is to look it up on wowhead and check the comments.

Yeah I started on Wowhead too after exhausting Youtube lol. This seems to have been flagged in beta. @Delani, that’s for the magma snail mount. you need an emply shell that drops from the slugs. About to try that on my pala as you need to survive lava to tame it.

If you are lucky enough to get the toy from doing the Dragonkeep siege you can survive the lava. Otherwise just take a friend who heals. :wink: Even a level 60 can keep you alive.

I did that as my Hunter, just used aspect of the turtle and it worked :+1:

Dunno how you managed that but well done. Turtle for 30% damage deduction for 8 seconds and the lava killed me afterwards before completing the channel.

Aww sorry to hear that, I was scared to be fair and went what the heck, jumped in and swam near it and then turtle shield while clicking on it and 20 seconds later sorted :+1:

I resorted to asking for a pocket healer in chat around Waking Shores. 30 seconds later I had the mount lol.
