Is there any add-on or method to reduce the sound noise that Mail Armor makes when running around? I’m tired of sounding like Father Winter’s sleigh when I run around, the majority of the mail armor sets barely even look like they are chain mail.

It’s very subtle but plate and mail armor have a sound effect that once you notice, you can’t forget about it.

I had no clue either, but I play with sounds off most of the time. Especially when raiding or doing M+ helps me focus

Are you 100% sure…?

I just logged my Shaman and hear literally nothing different when moving. Same with my hunter.

I’m writing this off as a subtle troll.

I recreated the OP situation,

Actually some type of armor seems to have sound,

For example the hunter NightHold Hunter transmog got a "Mail " Transmog,

Actually it’s a immersion, so i tryed to remove all what could impact these sound of have found :

  • Removed / changed pants
  • removed / changed / hided Chest
  • Hided Hands
  • Removed / changed / hide Feet

And no more sound from the NightHold Transmog.

It’s only “mail looking” armor that got that sound , if you take like a " mail / plate " Looking like my golden transmog, you should not get any sound.

The other solution yet is to desactivate " Sound Effect " ( default Control + S command)

Or maybe there’s a consol command that can stop the sound but i don’t know if there’s one.

Yeah it is barely looking like mail armor more like some kind of warden keep.

Thank you, with the replies in the thread I was beginning to think it was all in my head but I was downright sure there is a sound. Wasn’t aware that it may have only been linked to certain pieces though or have thought of that.

The Nighthold/EN set doesn’t look like mail at all but more panel plate armor and scales but the noise generated is like chain mail.

Oh it’s my mail armour making that sound… Always thought it was my fat stack of gold :money_mouth_face:
