So, I never “grind” rep - and I started reaching max with Emerald Dream faction and I’m getting lousy Enchanted Wyrm crests… sheesh - I outgrew this on all my chars - at least they could just get us crests fragments themselvs (not the item for crafting) (so we could convert into aspects or something)…

Exactly, as a casual player, only one item was useful for me when it unlocked, the Dream Wardens champion level head armor.
Its been like this for a while now… what makes it worse is when it also is timegated farm.
People love throwing that word around nowadays
I got that from the World Boss.
I do the rep just for the weekly quest for a chance at some Veteran gear (I still need Shoulders, Hands, Wrist and both trinkets).
I do World Boss, Superbloom, Worthy Ally rep grind and plant 5 seeds. I actually got some gear this week (first time in 5 weeks of doing all this). We could do with a vendor, was hoping one would come with 10.2.5 but meh. Not sure where I’ll get trinkets from.

Even back in Wrath I remember this being an issue. By the time I unlocked the quartermaster fully, I was beyond needing the items. They would only be useful for alts but we can’t send stuff across and they don’t have access. Maybe with the changes in the next expansion it will become more useful.
I only ever buy them for tmog etc.
Well, it ensures that you dont get the items before a certain time passes due to non viability of progress.
Since the reputation rewards are low ilvl to begin with, it makes no sense to make people wait for it, when they wanna put time into farming it.
Makes the entire reward meaningless.
If it was an aspect crest it might actually be useful but it’s a wrym or drake I think
imagine if a bis item would be behind rep 
the forums would melt
Huge difference between, BIS and getting something usefull. Especially with all the alternatives.
I stopped carring for rep, a long time ago. Especially the new kind with 20+ ranks.
None said an overall endagame BIS should be behind reps.
You people are mentally unable to process something in between “completely useless” and “BIS for everyone”.
