Since the new grouploot has been introduced I have not been able to win a single roll in raids. I keep losing to mainspec rolls, even when I am in my current spec and the item in question is an upgrade for my mage. From rings to trinkets to normal gear to tierpiece items.
So how does this exactly work? Will healers and tanks always win rolls over dps? Why cant my mage have mainspec rolls?
" * We also have mainspec and offspec functionality built-in, which changes based on the current loot spec you set.
** Main spec takes priority, then Off spec, then greed. So while a Ret paladin can’t off-spec loot a shield away from a main-spec roll from the Tank, anyone rolling greed could never win it over them. This also means that if you swap specs for a specific fight, like going Holy, you can still main spec roll for your desired items if they come from that boss without having to worry about hurting yourself by being flexible to your group."*
This is what the bluepost said, but in practice it isnt working that way? How in gods name can I get a piece of loot to drop for my mage?
The new system has made it incredible hard, frustrating and borderline stupid to get gear upgrades.
I think you just got Unlucky, tierset pieces is bad example because its Equal value, also you cannot judge any of it in SL, sl got it added retroactively, meaning SL was not designed with it in mind, and tier set tokens were not also designed like that.
Thats nonesense.
This is only the case if you presently have an Tier set item equipped yourself with higher ilvl. (I even think your need gets disabled?)
As a mage you can even roll Need on a pure heal proc trinket.
The system sucks, but it doesn’t suck in the way you describe it
Im very positive with DF and gladly awaiting it. But this feature with group loot is a big let down for me. Its one of the few things I cant support in this game at this point. I guess it wont change at this stage tho.
