Make all comps viable

Every expansion, my friends and I have a big discussion about what classes we should play to give us the most flexibility to be able to play 2s and 3s together. We have a spreadsheet that maps out all the known viable compositions and which classes we are interested in playing. Often someone has to make a compromise and play something that they don’t necessarily want to, in order to form a ‘viable’ composition - which often seems a little sad.

What makes a composition viable is dependant on a lot of things (if we ignore what is currently good/isn’t) - cooldowns that synergize, defensives, utilities, cc, etc. But one of the main reasons that classes can or cannot work together is if they CC can work together - i.e your main form of CC doesn’t DR the other player’s main form of CC.

I think this could be solved by choosing what type of category your CC is going to be - this kind of existed with shadow priests, you have the ability to take mind bomb which is a disorientate or psychic horror which is a stun. My thinking is that as, for example, a monk, you could choose for your Paralysis to be a disorientate instead of an incapacitate, giving you the ability to play with mages as currently polymorph DRs paralysis

I know this will require a ton of thought and make the game a little bit more difficult because you wouldn’t necessarily know what CC chains the opposition could create (this could possibly be solved by a UI indicator) - but would give players the ability to mix and match compositions in a way that wouldn’t have been possible before.

tl:dr - make it possible to select what category your CC will be

Be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Make Turbo viable and rmx would cry again

Turbo is viable. There is a reason why several teams are playing turbo at 2.5-2.7 MMR right now.

I guess you aren’t there ?

Why would rmx cry when rmd and arcane assa beat turbo on ladder the last time turbo was “viable”

Viable for him means, overpowered. Bad boosted people like him can`t get past 1800 with 475 unless the comp they play is broken.

I’m not talking about specific know current compositions - I’m talking about having the ability to mix and match classes that currently don’t work due to overlapping DR cc

I have run into a lot of turbos recently, but tbh I don’t think it’s that good. They hardly ever win, I’ve lost like once when my ret got caught off guard by the burst, but since then it’s a win every time.

Depends on the players I would say. The ones at 2600 mmr I faced sure won games to be at that rating !

I lost to Avines turbo exactly the same way. They went on my Hunter, then they went on me for 2 globals. :F

Nope Not yet but i played alot of Legion Turbo and my enh mate quittet cause he doesnt want to play ele Iam gonna tell him that Turbo is nice again hopefully he comes back Xd

Poster makes a case for a system which would bring more variability to arena compositions.

The literal rest of the posts discuss the past, present, and I’m sure soon enough the future of Turbo.

Lol’d.
