Make gathering baseline

I think wow is missing some opportunities to interact with the world. At the moment we have herbing ,mining and skinning which requires you to choose a spot of your professions list.

Just make all gathering professions baseline and on top of it add some professions interact with trees in wow. I like to gather wood like in other games which are used to craft coal for other professions e.g.

Gathering is a nice activity to relax from toxic content like m+.

The last point I want to add is that if you are able to use all gathering professions, you have a more rewarded interaction with the world, because every pixel you travel, you could find more resources.

I was thinking about that tbh. Maybe the gatherer(able to gather all types of materials) as main profession?

well gathering skills makes no sence we have cooking , fishing and arcology what takes no proffesion slots why does gathering skills take a slot ? there no diff to the other skills …

true .hopefully they come up with something good

They should roll all of them in to one “Gathering”
Pick flowers, fruits, mushrooms, vegetables, dig around for ore or gem, skin, bone, milk whatever
Foraging basically

The gold sellers have been saying this for years. They find it a pain to have to have bots for each gathering profession, would be easier if they were all wound into one

this one is not a bad idea. thought i think this would be cool if you can do this:
you can gather only common flowers but you need to be a herbalist. and maybe revamp it to be able to plant flowers too? i think it would be cool

Players are toxic not the actual content

Actually, I like this idea. I feel bad if my main isn’t alchemist/engineer, for obvious reasons, but I also dislike running past a First Flower and not being able to pick it x(

I’d be fine if we at least got to pick 2 crafting professions and 1 gathering profession. Haven’t had myself a gathering proff since wotlk as it’s just way more useful to have two crafting ones, I do miss the occasional mining as I have fond memories from mining titanium in wintergrasp :smiling_face_with_tear:

I must have gathering ocd, also clicking ‘clean up bags’ ocd so in a way I’m glad. I’ve recently swapped mining for leatherworking as my second prof. so that I’m not distracted

Objectively, I approve of them being baseline, makes sense to me.

And make it so that the newest Xpac glove enchants are able to loot all previous expacs nodes.

I am tired of carrying multiple sets of gloves just to pick flowers.

What do you do if you have both herb and mining? You are screwed cos you can only have one that picks faster. Why?

All gathering professions should be baseline.

In fact, every profession should be baseline.

Is my character dumb? Why does he forget how to pick a flower if he decides to start mining? It makes no sense.

Haha yeah I also don’t like the idea of forgetting how to pick up herbs if you switch professions

It is a bit like how the Tauren, Orcs, undead, Elves, Goblins ,etc forgot how to sepak and understand Common after joined the horde
Except when it is a cut scene, then its perfectly fine

The upshot of that is that everyone would have 5 professions.
If you’ve got herb/mining/skinning already, do you still get to choose 2 profs. or are you only gonna have one more?

I switch to gathering profs at the start of an expansion for xp and to make money selling trade goods. What use is that going to be if everyone and her mum can farm them too?
