Make gigaservers from Gehennas and Firemaw

Dear Blizzard, just do it.
These are PvP realms not a PvE.
Most players which choose to play on PvP realm came for war. Fight world bosses with opposite faction, fight materials (thats a reason why is ghost iron like 1-2g max).
They know the risk about being griefed in open world by opposite faction.
I like to gank, big fights (like in prev expansions even in legion we fought around WQ etc…).
You don’t like pvp? Go to pve realm lol
Its unfair? Get good
Look at anniversary. It works with forced faction balance perfectly.

Super good opportunity right here : do the merge/cross-realm for the “landfall patch” that is coming up soon. This would be such a good move, for a “pvp” themed patch. Sounds like a no-brainer.

False

False again. People do it because the economy is better and it’s easier to find groups

There’s no risk because it’s one-sided PvE realm

Gehennas and Firemaw are PvE realms

It’s not perfect, there are problems, and it only works because it was imposed from the very beginning

Im prety sure there are atleast 3x more ally on Firemaw than horde on Gehennas. So you still need 2 more horde pvp server to be atleast close to 50-50. And just for the record, every single wg is a lag fiesta. Imagine a whole server where ppl can attack each other in open word…

And here I was thinking i play on Firemaw because of bigger community for both pve and pvp. Better market also.

And both Firemaw and Gehennas have huge zone lags. Casting a spell and looting can take 2-3sec. From this morning at 06:00 until now, it’s basically unplayable. Merging these two would make it impossible to play.

World pvp would be fun, but not gonna happen anymore. Unless Destinite decides to start it. He was the one guy who made world pvp fun in cata.

Just no, this gonna lag hard+add huge ques. Blizz just cant make huge realms 2 work fine.

100% this - the servers are absolute ash already.

They can’t make anything work.

Merging Gehennas and Firemaw and launching forced faction balance really is a no-brainer. These servers are close in population and one-factioned. The lag is because of the hardware. Improve hardware, add more layers, the lag will be gone. Anniversary gigaserver with population twice more than Gehennas and Firemaw combined works just fine.
To the trolls that tell that they are PVE realms: no they are not. The fact is that they are called PVP realms. You can imagine anything you want, but you cannot change the fact, that they are PVP realms, no matter how many times you will repeat it in different threads.

There is no point since they can’t even keep 1 server stable without any lag inputs

Golegmagg, sorted

I think the best thing to do though is open a new PVP realm, close the locked ones and dead ones down and give them free transfers to whatever realm they’re like, which makes space for a new realm.

new PvP realm, forced balance, free transfers from the megarealms, not enough people will move to new realm for it to effect megarealms (maybe take a layer or 2 off)

The new pvp realm doesn’t have to be a “megarealm” good amount of players, and just 1 layer is perfect for the community aspect of it too, like the olden days.

Best part of wpvp for me back in the days tbc/wotlk originally I was still leveling through vanilla so didn’t really experience much at 60… was the realm community aspect, seeing the same faces, guild’s hating each other, big pvp wars happening, it meant more… not random 101 out of 100000’s of people

this will never happen blizzard more likely to introduce warmode early and cross-realm so we’ll be fighting russians in the world, instead of bgs, yay… not my cuppa tea.

Some MoP wpvp videos, on defias brotherhood.

This should be MoP not this rubbish.

Should we call the new realm big beautiful lagodrome?

“Time anomaly” would be more appropriate

Firemaw is already incredibly laggy.

Firemaw is almost unplayable and you want to add the other megaserver… yeah sure, I can’t see any problems with that logic.

What they should do is exactly what they did in OG MoP, merge the “semi-dead” servers and make another big realm. It worked 10 years ago (somewhat).

Most of realms became mono-faction because players want it. It was a community who decided to transfer to mono-faction realms. It just shows 1 thing, that people dont really care about world PvP, and for most players it’s just inconvenience rather then fun. Most people go to PvP realms not because they like PvP - but just because they thought that those realms are more populated. And mono-faction realms, that was created by community (not by blizzard) clearly shows that nobody really care about world PvP. Why merge servers and force people to PvP when community shows that really they dont want it?

People were on Gehennas/Firemaw because PVP gear was bis in classic. There really isn’t any other reason to play those servers if they didn’t have a large pop to begin with.

Just make zones in pandaria crossrealm with the pvp servers. Same tech they use elsewhere. Pvp servers become pvp servers again, everyone wins (except people who belong on pve servers).

Oh, you’re way off here. Just take Firemaw as an example—where I play Horde, and it’s basically 1% Horde vs 99% Alliance now. This situation happened because Blizzard allowed free character migration, and people exploited it. Players would transfer from Firemaw to a low-pop server, then from that low-pop server to Gehennas.

The main reason people left Firemaw for Gehennas? The auction house. Simple as that. Prices for Horde were high and people couldn’t be bother to farm their own crap.
