now a days with the number of farming bots it aint fun anymore to casual farm.
specially when you constantly start pick a herb or mine for it just to disappear last second.
we already see personal mines and herbs are possible ( look for example the garrison mine and garden ) so why not make it for new expansion mines there all personal.
and to combat inflation on the ah make it so you can only herb or mine a set number of herb and mines a day per char.
this makes it also unattractive for bots as they manual need to change char at a certain point to continue harvesting.
and if all this aint possible at least make it so mines and herbs that are about the expire red on the mini map instead of there yellow icon.
the first part is mostly written out of frustration but that why i added that if they at least make a visual clue that a herb or mine is about to disappear like for example what i mentioned in the opening post then that would i think already save so many frustration moments
I did suggest this a while back, so I do think itâs a reasonable idea. Give the node a 8 - 12 hour respawn so you canât stand there mining the same node all day.
But I would increase the number of nodes too. Iâd have it so that you could fly around and farm up loads of ore in an afternoon.
Gathering mats would be a lot cheaper as thereâd be more of them available and players could farm their own quite easily.
I donât think gathering should be a money making thing. I think it should be about immersion and making crafting feel better. I donât mind crafting making some money though as this requires some effort on the part of the player.
I think professions as a whole needs to be completely redone. I know they changed some in DF but that system is just the old one with added complications. It is still a screen where you click a bit and an item is made.
Gathering professions had the same situation. There is no variation in how you gather anything. Click on ore, click on herb.
Itâs the only reason to do them. Take it away without making the system more rpg like and allot of people will stop using it.
Fishing for example is always with a fishing pole but there are allot of ways to fish in real life. You have nets, lobster traps, hand fishing, bottom fishing, spear fishing, etc. I think all professions should be expanded on more and set you out in the open world to make something or have varies ways to gather.
The vanishing mines/herbs is because you are âfollowingâ another gatherer. Solution: change your route by going somewhere further away from that point on the route or just go to another zone.
But it would be nice if nodes âinsta-vanishedâ so they wouldnât be visual. I guess itâs some sort of server-client lag.
i know the cause, but with so many farmers around there aint really a safe routes to take, at least not on the shard im at.
thatâs why i hope to at least have kind of visual clue that a herb is about to disappear or has less then 10 sec left. like making the icon on the mini map red instead of yellow.
that solution also provide more info on any farmers ahead of you so its more clear what road not to take.
It would make farming more lucrative than it already is. I think thatâs probably why they wont go for it. At present the system limits them as to how many can hit one node before it depletes.
but like the red icon idea for herbs and mines that are about to disappear doesnât increasing the amount of mines are available its just a visual clue to avoid frustration ( as thru the post we more leaning to that idea more now)
well did got me a few honorable kills xD but still lost the mines T_T so in the end still lost the war âwithinâ.
but sadly even the pvp shard is full of farmers. luckily mostly alliance i can attack but every battle does add up in time.
for me the turning the mini map icon for herb and mines that have 10 sec or less remaining is the best mid ground solution to at least lessen that frustration,
