There are only two viable covenant for all druid specs if you want to do endgame content. You can switch instantly if you have not been a part of that covenant. Even if you have it takes 2 days to change and another 2 days to grind renown.
If you want to constantly swap than you are probably not doing content that would require renown anyways.
What does them being viable or not has something do with it? I want to try necrolord or kyrian after trying fae and venthyr I think should be able to do that without grinding a lot. And no, for a normal person with a job and family it doesn’t take two days to do it. For someone who plays all the time its possible. The problem is that you want to your weekly stuff aswell. Sure, you get renown for doing m+ and such, but then you are doing it without conduits slots and such.
My guildmate is 34 with 2 kids ( one is a toddler) changed covenants a few times with a “normal job”. He was necrolord 4 times, venthyr 4 times and kyrian 2 times. Every single time the reroll took 2 days (Tuesday and then Wednesday) and by the time it was a raid day he was already almost on max level. I’m not speaking out of my butt.
Im assuming he means he wants to try the end soulbinds. How you can defend this system is beyond me. You should be able to switch it like talents. Anything else is stupid. This is WoW we are talking about. Its not final fantasy. The rpg element left this game years ago. Its a seasonal dungeon/raid simulator. Therefor you should be able to switch ur covenant just like you do talents and spec. We all know the real reason why they make it tedious and slow.
I also want it to be easier simply because its REALLY weird for Blizzard to punish players for wanting to… play their game?
You bring in 8 new abilities and basically punish people for wanting to try the other 6? That just makes no sense? Especially when they make one of them too strong in a spesific content.
Warlocks in PvE pick NF by like what, 98%? And to even TRY the other 3 is so punishing. Why do this? Or, why make one of them way too strong compared to others? Imagine Affliction without the NF legendary in M+ on Fortified weeks… Ewwh.
I always find this “excuse” quite hilarious. Blizzard did NOT force you to get 3 jobs to feed 10 hamsters and etc. If you don’t have the time to play a video game, then its your own personal problem to solve.
Adapt your schedule to the game, not force Blizzard to adapt the game for you.
I have some time to play, but I want that to be quality time. Right now they are punishing players.
Its way too grindy tbh. Very fun when they nerf something in the next patch at renown 80, and make another covenant the best. Then you have to start over again. The system is just bad.
I still think the covenant system has some major flaws and they should make it easier for people to change covenants. Right now they punish people that want try something new.
