Not sure if this has been suggested before, but seeing no one is running Firelands other than people greeding gold for a carry for legendary quest-line for Dragonwrath, Taregosa’s Rest. I have a ton of alts but they’re so far behind in dps due to missing the staff. Seeing we can farm 384 gear with Obsidian Fragments, how can we not have currency for the legendary staff added there aswell? It would help so much with our alts catching up?

Firelands PUGs are only alive because staff collectors and their guilds/friends are willing to take any people in. With 30% nerf this raid is PUG friendly and a source of good gear for Dragon Soul normal.
But without raid lead interested in helping someone to collect the staff Firelands would become dead content as everyone would grind Twilight heroics till ilvl 385+.
In populated realms there’s pug scene, in low ones there isn’t a single pug run. Sad reality
Chromie PvE a second smallest EU Cata Classic realm with 97 Alliance and 64 Horde active raiders according to Ironforge.pro. Only dead Hydraxian Waterlords RP is being smaller with 10 Alliance raiders.
This Monday I got into Firelands normal on my Chromie PvE alt druid used for fishing achievements and rare mobs hunting on this low pop realm. People collected staff components for their warlock and even took me and another undergeared warlock and boosted us in their DS heroic gear.
So my point is find a guild, show your attendance and even on smallest realm you will be able slowly but steadily to collect it. The only question is do you need it in the end of Cataclysm, when epic DS staffs are only 5% worse and MoP prepatch announcement allready on the horizon? You can do it easily as 5 people in MoP anyway if you need it just for the collection.
