Make mor'ladim great again!

There SHOULD BE a big bad Undead murdering people on the graveyard!

I left wow for a few years and when I came back and was levelling through DS, I remember asking in general for a group for Mor’Ladim. Some kind person took pity on me and explained that no group was necessary as soloing was easy.

After my initial embarrassment of not knowing this, I did think to myself, how sad that they took this previously strong and feared mob and made him so pitifully weak (or made us so strong at that level he was an easy kill).

He was never that scary. I remember trying to kite him out of Duskwood once. Alas, he froze as soon as sunlight touched him and disappeared.

Stitches on the other hand…

Not to mention Stitches.

I loved Duskwood because it was legit scary, both in theme, and because an elite might jump you at any time :joy_cat:

One of the reasons I enjoyed my short play in Classic, just to level through and see him again, god I missed Stitches

So many old scary elites have been lost over time!

What about the terror of Dun Morogh Vagash? Had a pop at him solo on classic the other day, what a mistake that was.

Captain Flat Tusk who roamed near the Razormane camps in Durotar, basically stopping you pulling any mobs there if he was up due to being ridiculously strong.

And everyone’s favourite form of sudden death - the Fel Reavers in HFP whom would somehow be able to sneak up on you despite being the size of a skyscraper and if one caught you you got pancaked in a second.

It was kinda fun having these super deadly guys and others like them around, they sure as heck made you keep to the roads and watch yourself!

What I remember more than anything is being one-shot by Horde players who had jumped on top of the roof of the Darkshire buildings.

Basically it was:

grinding red orcs

You see ground shake

hear noise that sounds like a war of the worlds tripod and makes you crap your pants

Turn camera to see a Fel Reaver just behind you that has now acquired you as a target.

“Would you like to release your spirit?”

Yeah, but that happened in Redridge too… And having levelled 2 characters to 60 on vanilla PvP servers, I can never go back to Stranglethorn. I literally tense up at the thought :joy_cat:

I think you mean Ganklethorn.

So many orc hunters and forsaken rogues… So many runs the entire length of the map to Booty Bay because some level 50 child would rather waste both your times than let you get on with your questing…

I once got lost doing the lich in duskwood and tried to form a raid to fight through the ghouls (you know which ones I mean)

I forgot about the back enterance XD

Why, YES! HOW COULDN’T I HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT?

It’s actually kind of funny, how people almost enjoy getting killed by a strong enemy here and there (as long as it’s not too much either I guess).

I think it was more the fact that there were such enemies that you had to be aware of (to avoid getting killed) it added flavour to the specific areas.

I think Lorathenus explained it well

It would mean less if they were just

Just my opinion but I liked the added danger

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Duskwood is so beautifully self-contained that with a fair bit of fleshing out and expansion it could have been a game of it’s own.

Same could be said about a lot of zones IK, but this one seems particularly so.
