Make the Spectral Tiger a Trading Post reward

Ion has no power over what becomes a store item. It’s probably the same case for what beomes a Twitch drop or a Prime Gaming reward.

There was a lot of demand for Tyrael’s Charger to become avaliable again on the forums and social media pages, and they did it. If there is the same amount of demand (which there almost certainly is) for the Spectral Tiger to come back, and the higher ups see potential revenue over it, then they’ll do it. The higher ups don’t care about the rarity of promotional items. They do not care if you feel special because you have a virtual item in a video game.

Ion is the head developer/game director of WoW. Hes their Boss. He most certainly decides what goes on the shop and what does not and the only ones that can decide over him are Bobby and Ybarra respectively.

They also never outright stated that it wont return. And people in a position such as his never make clear statements like this if they arent certain. They make vague ones at best that leave room for interpretation if they want to leave that door open for the foreseeable future. Not a straight up no.

Ion is a higher up.

I can already tell this discussion will not go anywhere if you truly believe this, so I’m gonna leave here

Dude. Actually check his position. He is the Game Director. He only has two people above him. Bobby and Ybarra.

You cant spout “da higher ups” while completely ignoring his position within Blizzard.

What percentage of the company does Ion own though? That’s who is actually in control.

You can extend this to the shareholders. As long the game produces enough money they dont give a rats. They also arent in a position to critique if the money keeps flowing. This isnt just the case with Blizzard. And that comes from me, a player that has insulted ion as a player left and right over the course of the years.

This reminds me that I did not check the trading post yet this month

It could be said that there is no such thing as enough money. Companies will do anything for more profit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the tiger came back.

Yes they do. However they also never directly state yes or no. Even the classic debate prior to the release of said realms wasnt answered with a direct no but with a vague “you think you do, but you dont”.

And Shareholders typically dont barge into a companies doings as long as they generate enough money for several reasons or as long as they dont feel their money will go poof (like it was the case when some shareholders wanted to sue blizzard for damages when that whole sexual harassments nightmare started)

They could just add it in a vendor for 10mil gold. it’s the same price people drop at bmah when its up. Equivalent of 27-40 tokens based on token price. So its cheaper both for someone interested and blizzard gets to make €€€.
Brutosaur at 5mil was super expensive if you also had to buy tokens to pay for it.

Im pretty certain that the Spectral Tiger is not part of the BMAH. Just like the Black Proto isnt part of it. Only the Pet is on it. The Spectral Tiger is also not on the regular AH since people charge several gold caps for it.

Google also states that its not part of the BMAH.

you are correct i meant as people pay 10mil for swift zulian tiger.

Yeah Swift Zulian Tiger. But it doesnt have the same amount of “value” as the Spectral Tiger. At least as far as the collectors are concerned.

Personally i wouldnt pay that amount of gold. Then again i happen to regularly pump my gold into bnet balance. I think hots alone chugged a good amount of gold for skins.

Agree but as long as the gold cap is 10mil you cant pay more than that to a vendor for something. Or they can add at shop for €300-500 something like that. I mean in order for blizzard to profit from this market.

After what we’ve got in the TP so far, it’s only a matter of time.

They could increase the gold cap again. Or add a account cap. Even though i find these caps strange to begin with. People can already bypass the caps in several ways.

Oh you would still have people go ballistic about it. I think the Tiger is around 5000$ currently.

Adding the Long Boi would provide this x1,000,000.

Keep in mind the expensive option is not necessarily the most profitable option. For eBay resellers, sure, the more they can earn with one mount, the better.

But that is only because they have a limited amount of mounts to sell.

Blizzard doesn’t have that limitation. They can literally create mounts out of thin air because they are just digital items.

Think about it, what is more profitable, to sell 100 mounts at 1000€ or to sell 1200 mounts at 100€? When the item has a production cost of 0, increasing the price x10 is not worth it if the number of buyers is reduced to more than 1/10.

PD: The numbers are an example to illustrate that expensive doesn’t mean profitable. Blizzard should probably conduct a market study to calculate what price is the more profitable. Which I am sure won’t be the lowest price, but also, it won’t be a price to the levels of eBay (this is part also because Blizzard would want to destroy the second-hand market).

Symbol of dupe.

I don’t personally see the appeal in this particular mount, but I don’t really mind it returning somehow.
