So tired of having 2k sitting on a char i don’t use for nothing.
Its weird “Honor” to be acc-wide but “Valorstone” not.
You buy PvP gear with Honor and upgrade it with Valorstones.
How did you accumulate 2k on a character you “don’t use”?
Pretty ez ? u played on it but u wanna play on diff char or u can’t upgrade anything atm because you don’t have enough crest etc.
Make them all warbound honestly then i have more reason to play my tank main and healer main, and still be able to gear up my dps alts and be properly rewarded for playing tank and healer, if you have problem with this feel free to respond, i will not tank future dungeons for you or heal and instead play my dps alt some more.
I think he means a character he doesn’t do M+/PVE content with. I also have 2K on an alt character I use only for professions (Enchanting and Inscription).
How? First I got a bunch of Valorstones from all 4 renown factions just by hitting level 80. Then as I grind weekly profession knowledge, I get a lot of valor stones from dirt/wax/treasures.
Exactly what i mean.
Make all currencies warbound
I would prefer to be able to spend it on things rather than transferring it to alts.
For example, buying key upgrades. That would help with key depletion.
Eventually you run out of things to upgrade.
Or get valor faster than you get crests.
It’s quite easy to cap.
Sounds useless when blizzard can just move there butt and make it so if u don’t time it but still complete it wont deplete.
What do you prefer ? Nothing at all ?
or it does deplete when you dont time but doesnt deplete if someone leaves
I’ve been capped at 2k on my main for several weeks now. The basic problem is that gearing for Delve players is badly designed once you hit 606 ilvl and have largely BiS items. To get from 606 to 619 it’s better to do open-world content and take the vault tokens for crests than aim for good vault items.
8 x Delves @ t8 - 14 runed crests plus 3 x chance at 616 gear to replace random 606 item
4 x world event chests + Blackrock lfr final wing - 45 runed crests a week to upgrade an item of your choosing from 606 to 616
Running Delves means doing an extra 2 hour’s work for a single item 3 ilvl gain (assuming you’re already doing weekly chests for bountiful keys). It doesn’t even make sense to run delves for the chance of the map because the drop rate is so low. You get around one 3 ilvl upgrade per item per 50 delves.
And for fun, it’s much more enjoyable running t8 Delves on a new alt than a 617 ilvl main. But the gear and crest catch-up systems means I need valorstones much quicker than I can get them.
Tl:dr at this point in the season, for players focusing on Delves the gearing system encourages playing content on main that gives lots of valorstones and content on alt where valorstones are in short supply. Hence the desire to transfer them.
Valorstones are a pointless currency that are trying to serve a purpose that crests already serve, except in the most frustrating way possible. Just remove them completely.
Or at least remove the valorstone cost when upgrading using crests, and leave them only as a pre-crest upgrade currency.
I remember a time long ago when I saw the point in having separate currencies.
BUt as it stands, and has stood for 3 seasons now, after a month or so I always find myself with a main that can´t earn more valorstones but needs crests (i.e. has to wait for next ID or farm M+), and alts that have the gear and crests to upgrade to a pre-mythic level, but have to run hours of content to farm 1k+ valorstones to use the crests.
I agree 100% on the solution of valorstones to upgrade everything below raid level (and then they could even throttle valorstone acquisition by 50 or 75% “to make early gearing feel more meaningful for new players or fresh alts” if they wanted to), and crests only for any upgrade level that requires crests.
Having to farm crest in content that also drops Valorstones, while being capped on Valorstones, and while also knowing that you will need more Valorstones anyway after being done farming crests, is the whole point of frustration with this. I genuinely do not understand what the design goal is here.
I mean you can somewhat circumvent it by going to upgrade every time you gain enough crests to upgrade by one level, but that’s also nothing more than annoying. Like if one’s in a raid it’s not exactly polite to go “guys wait for me, I have to go upgrade an item by one level so I don’t overcap valorstones” every other boss.
WIth all due respect, that´s a bit extreme IMO… With 2k stones, you just stop caring about stones completely and spend crests when you have them, because by the time you have more crests you´ll easily have enough stones unless you´ce going from like <606 - >619 in one reset if not day… Not saying it´s impossible, but I don´t think it represents the norm very well. The other situation, sitting on literally hundreds of crests and the upgradeable items on alts, while not having the stones to purchase the upgrade is IMO far more widespread and therefore problematic.
It depends. With gilded crests, because they’re so limited, you ideally want to spend them on myth track gear, and on something really worth upgrading. And it’s not uncommon to go some time without having items that are worth the cost. Then suddenly you gain an item or two, maybe one of them is a weapon which costs a small forture to upgrade, and now you have all the crests but have to go out of your way to farm extra Valorstones, even tho in reality you did enough content to farm the needed amount of them several times over.
It’s a currency that’s irrelevant almost all the time, but in the cases where it is relevant, it just sucks to deal with.
This is basically the core of the issue… you never notice them until you notice them, and when you do it´s already too late… Like if the “Check engine oil” lamp only went on 2 seconds before the engine explodes
