The amount of interrupts, knock backs and cc’s have become absurd these days when trying to solo content and instances, getting tossed around or dodging crap while trying to get into our damage window is not fun whatsoever.
Void Eruption should be made baseline insta cast. Shadow is already a ramp up dot class, and our mobility is not the best, why is this option just a PvP talent? DA also doesn’t solve the problem and many would rather take LotV. Does it really cause PvE balancing issues??
I’m not sure how it would affect the game if Void Erruption became instant as a baseline, however I do agree that it feels dreadful and kills the pace of the spell when you have to wait for it to charge.
It feels like there is this “build-up” to the spell where we then explode in darkness! But then it just feels incredible slow anticlimactic…
I’d love to see it become instant as baseline too.
I think the initial reasoning was to add some fanfare to entering voidform, so it didn’t become a button you just pressed without thinking / while on the move.
While I can sympathise with the developer that wanted this to be the case, voidform is hardly a mechanic worth announcing in this way, its 80-90% of our standard rotation. I think in raiding / M+ I actually like that it has a cast time though, it doesn’t need to be instant in 99% of cases, especially when the eruption bolts are hitting 5 targets at once.
It’s also really kinda awkward that erupt incurs bolt’s cooldown when it’s instant (It does when it’s casted anyway but it doesn’t matter).
