as a world pvper this is needed, current system , game feels too empty most of the time
I support in the revamp of the War Mode system, bring an incentive for players to partake Full-Scale combat in a Open-World PvP manner and implement a wide variety of cosmetic rewards, new titles, mounts, transmog and additional honor & conquest gains with weekly/daily questing.
While at it, disable queueing for any content since people have a habit of disrupting and abusing the finders in order to āescapeā when things backfires.
This I support, more shinies and reviving the PvP scene sounds great.
This I do not.
Most of us are queued for something while out in the world. Who has a whole day to do both PvP and PvE and try to complete everything separately?
I can only see this work in designated PvP areas, where we join solely for the purpose of PvP.
But to handicap everyone and prevent them from joining any instanced activity just to prevent some griefing feels like such a downer, I would personally hate it.
If the rewards are good, there will automatically be less trolling.
Dunnno I levelled up my priest in WM and looked plentiful to me or at least Silvermoon does. . Even have the 2 pvp places per zone and seen plenty fighting in those to complete the WQ objectives. Only problem is I cant find them in the spider kingdom as they donāt seem to show up on my map.
Then I have seen plenty big fights whenever there is a bounty on someoneās head - its like at least 20 -30 ppl going free for all to claim the bounty. Just does not seem worth it to me for 100 honor points should change that 250 CP or maybe a good sum of actual gold like 2.5K bounty.
100% agree with this one and seems to be Paladins and Rogues who abuse this. If you in combat the queue should be paused until you leave combat.
If you want to multitask in between activities, you should not partake in War Mode, since it is the principle of the whole activity, you are agreeing to āwage warā upon the opposition, it is like me queueing in a Battleground and /afk myself out because I refused to give my enemies the satisfaction of landing the killing blow upon me.
The incentive is to revive World PvP, not randomly dissapear at your convenience, if anything that is not PvP.
That is not going to revive World PvP by any means, unless the rewards are that great.
Most people hate clashing in the world, as you can see in game, where an overwhelming majority has WM off for pretty much everything.
It really depends on how well itās implemented. Very few enjoy PvP activities these days.
I used to be a fan of world PvP in DF. And I stoped. The reason ?
People group up. And if you got a party of 5 (with a healer) ganking everyone else⦠it simply is not fun anymore.
The ONE thing they need to change, is to be unable to party. Literally that.
And I am baffled that Blizzard hasent figured that one yet. Because its THE reason instanced PvP was made in the first place: To fix that exact problem.
Arenas and BGs force a set amount of players. You cant get 10 people ganking 3. Its 10v10 and fair.
Thatās all fair and games, but if you donāt like the mode, donāt partake? World of Warcraft has always been a game about cooperation and working together with fellow people, Blizzard simply needs to re-structure the system, improve it by offering a better implementation of the World PvP whilst adding additional rewards that will motivate the player to partake in the scenario.
In the meantime, improve the grouping tool system so people can automatically join āPvP eventsā whether arranged, or automated by the server for balancing purposes and show-casing a system that simulates Battleground-Like tool tips that shows āStrategicā Nodes scattered across for example Isle of Dorn, and players have to work together to control these points.
This automated system would not work either and would revert straight back to what Uda was saying. The ratio of horde players vs Alliance per server is never equal. You could end up with 20 vs 1.
Things that āconceptuallyā would look and feel cool are nice. And I agree. But in practice, when its a 20v5 its not fun. However you look at it.
And sometimes cooperation dosent end up in the good end⦠sometimes people cooperatate to get such a massive advantage that the end result is bad for everyone else.
And all the incentives you put are nice. People will make a 40 man raid, stomp enyone and everyone along the way, get the reward in 2 minutes and leave.
It happened already in 2005. Why should we expect a different result now?
I suppose one person can dream about it, but I feel like Blizzard should offer more incentives for PvPers in a better improved, world PvP scenario, or maybe even new weekly/quests activities that incentivise the practice, but time will tell, but canāt imagine it being the case anytime soon excepting a incoming new PvP mode for the Undermine if I heard correctly.
Entire game feels half empty, warmode or not.
Itās like⦠yeah thereās people sometimes, but I have no reason to care. I donāt need them for anything and if I do then itās much more convenient to get teleported to someone elseās instance using the group finder.
WoWās world is so broken itās surreal lol.
There has been a PvP mode in Open World since the launch of Vanilla. And even in early times they realized people were not having fun and were forced to make Alterac Valley.
So its been 20 years of āincentivesā with no results. Maybe a more radical idea is required.
Because I would like the OW PvP scene to come back. But trying the same thing they have done for the past 20 years is not the way to fix it IMO.
I mean all they have to do is implement a layout as I mentioned above, like a simulation of a Battleground with nodes and reinforcements, and go from there until the round ends.
edited ; But for that to function, they need to optimize and improve the current problems with 40vs40 in epic battleground where lag is present.
That is 2005 hillsbrad foothills. They tried that. Did not work. Because you had 40v5 battles that were absolutely not fun. And faction inbalance made it even worse.
So they were forced to an instanced āHillsbrad Foothillsā with nodes and reinforcements āuntill the round endsā. Its called Alterac Valley. The first BG.
Lag is the least of their problems. Fairness and balance is their main problem to solve there.
And NPCs (before you suggest that) will absolutely not cut it.
So basically either they force parties of 40 in instanced content. OR⦠they ban groups. One or the other.
completely agree
Not sure, as far I remember, the battles seemed very fair and equal but then I was in Vashj at the time.
Lag should be corrected and should be their problem, after all, we are all sharing a subscription and all modes should function as intended. It is basic principles.
NPCs will not be added, this is a PvP mode, not PvE.
And yes, grouped or solo, prompted rightfully for the event you should automatically join a raiding group.
Iām pretty sure this company can be creative one way or another, itās just whether they want to implement it, if they donāt, then fair enough, but they are missing out so much potential for specific PvP players. and perhaps, enthusiasts that might find it appealing.
They rarely were honestly, but it was open world, immersive, persistent mayhem - and ultimately those open world interactions is why people play MMOās. A co-op action experience or a low player count RPG experience is easily provided by a number of other genres.
Some realms had it better, some had it worse I had the privilege to have an enjoyable, and memorable experience.
FINALLY! A thread advocating for the very thing that made WoW awesome.
I was starting to think WoW players were p(bleeps)!
Fully support this. Make warmode great again!
