Making a Pandaren DK

I made a new DK on a new realm recently and I decided on a Pandaren, the thing is they don’t do the DK start area, they are just there in ICC for 5 minutes then get sent to the capital city at level 58.

Yes, all DKs of the non-original DK races do that.

But Worgen and Goblins don’t, they do the start area.

Panda Dks…

Such a shame a cool class had to go down this road.

Yes, Worgen and Goblins were able to become DKs prior to the introduction of the new zone. Pandaren and Allied Races were not - they’re the new DK races, they all go through the new zone, while the rest goes through the old one still.

allied races and pandaren (ie all races after cataclysm) are not created by the Arthas so the intro sequence is pointless.

even tho, they probably can make a new scenario for shadowlands like the new DK fending off some assault at ICC but will never have the impact thas the original scenario

Exactly.

Panda disgrace of WOW.

You certainly have a point there. Worgen and Goblin came after the wotlk…they should get the new starting area also

They write in how the worgen and goblins came to be Death Knights.
With the Worgen it’s that they are Gilneans that were trapped on the wrong side of the wall then enslaved by Arugal.

They can’t do the same with all the Allied Races… Because Lightforged and Void Elves for example didn’t even exist on Azeroth during the Wrath of the Lich King.
And the Pandas hadn’t left the Wandering Isle / Pandaria yet.

But they could theoretically have placed the Kul Tirans, Dark Irons and the Zandalari in the old Death Knight starting zones and make it fit.
Guess they just took the easy way and made it so that every AR just get the 2 minute speech on top of Ice Crown and off they go.

I must have missed this…thanks for clearing it up!

No problem… It’s this quest by the way. The part about Worgen. Minor spoiler warning if you want to do it on your own.

That’s the reason I never gonna make allied race dk.

The worgen curse happened before Wrath if you play through the starting zone as a worgen it’s made clear it’s in the past. As for Goblins. Well they’re everywhere.

There were pandaren that went traveling to see the world after hearing the stories of Liu Lang.
It is posssible some of them went to Northrend, only to be killed and raised as a death knight.

That’s the reason I am gonna make allied race dk. Can finally skip that old, boring dk intro that was only fun once.

Because it wouldn’t make sense for them to do the old DK starter area (which is in desperate need of an update) canonically.

It was absurdly rare to encounter a Pandaren on Azeroth, indeed the only notable one was Chen, up until the events of The Wandering Isle and discovering Pandaria. They were quite isolationist.

Hence any race after WotLK (bar Worgen and Goblins who were canonically present but not playable at the time) have a different start zone if playing a DK.
