All the corruptions already cost so much there is no room to test weird combinations, now on top of that we should stop buying corruption on alts for like a month just to be able to get enough malefic cores?
A hardcore ”casual” ~4h day will probably look at 3months just to upgrade his cloak from 0 to 15 and catchup on resistance before even thinking about buying corruption on a single character.
Like you couldnt make them drop at end of much advertised epic Warfronts, world pvp legion attack dailies, or whatever else no-reason-to-play content? Like I even rather go farm moltencore than do another garbage ”horrific vision” for echos more than once per week. Top players already have like 300k coalezing vision just waiting, to go through that dreadful rng fest dungeon even if 5mask is easy.

Nzoth Assaults now reward a malefic core aside of their mementos / coalscing stuff
Weekly pvp / pve caches give 1 malefic core each if applicable / behind on resistance.
Everything being gated behind Echoes is silly.
This char is my main, and i already feel i have no time to enjoy my alts because the echoes on my main will buy me some great corruptions in just 1 reset, so i need to hoard them like there is no tomorrow.
Like always, people will never be happy, u cry there is no proper catchup, u cry if they do somehow at least decent one… Realy people will cry even if they made new char and before loging for first time they will be fully decked in bis woth CE on account… Just for making that char.
Of course, because people want to enjoy playing alts.
Only reason they even did this was due to wowheads newstory yesterday that if u leveled your cloak to 15 you wouldnt be able to catchup anymore and would get max cloak a week after other players around september 25th or whatever.
People have complained about this alt unfriendliness already for a long time. First time playing WoW? Top pvp players like pikaboo who dont play pve are sitting with like 59corruption still despite being 3k rated in arena.

Yea and when people finaly get what they wanted, kind of, they are mad and sad at same time, we all know blizz, just look at essences, after 2 seasons we get acc wide esences, for echoes, people realy thought they will get free cathup increase? Should be glad its what it is…
You get echoes from pretty much any content rn. Wanna catchup your alt or are you a new/returning player? Don’t be lazy and play the game. Timegate is gone now.
I’ve returned month ago after 3 months break. I got 471il and 30k echoes just waiting for masterful III vendor. Some days I only log for like half an hour.
Just do assaults, do visions, emmisaries, weekly chests (both pvp and pve), go raid, and you will have plenty of echoes.
As someone that had a ~3 month break I was really happy with these changes, got my cloak to 89 (item disappeared then, probably because I havent killed Nzoth this ID), grinding echoes is quite easy/fast imho. Vendor cycle still sucks, corruptions should be up at all time.
It’s not a bad change, it’s just the wrong change. Echoes are already required in large numbers for other things (essences, corruptions). They should have just made every vision clear drop +3 corruption resist, M+ cache at end of week, PVP cache at end of week etc.
I mean if they want people to catch up quickly, let them just get cores for all content, so they can spend echoes on corruptions/essences as intended.
U see it as defending, i see all of you as ungrateful, yes, it could have been done much earlier and way better, but it could be much much worse than how it was/is.
So instead of crying all over again, couldnt people be at least once glad without bi***ng about everything?
How is that unusable? If you want to gear up your alt including corruptions you simply need to play it and farm echoes. Nothing stops you now from catching up since nothing is timegated.
Which currency for cores do you think would be better than echoes? Echoes is the only currency which drops everywhere, pvp, raids, m+, emmisaries, assaults. That means PvP players don’t need to play PvE for corruptions and vice versa.
I honestly think they can’t afford it. Don’t forget that there are people who work at blizzard whose job is to know when exactly the majority of players have had enough. The reality is that a lot of people don’t enjoy the grind (me personally because the rewards don’t match the required effort in terms of difficulty to amount of EoN).
The bottom line is that yes, you can just go easy and pretty much passively get them by the next rotation. However, that just feels like “sub for another month before your character is decent”. The fact that I more than doubled the dmg output on my mage from “better versions” of m+14/15 and heroic raid items is ridiculous. Double gating it behind cloak res just ensures you won’t be able to make your char function like it should unless you pay for 2-3 more months (before the latest change) of trivial (at best) content.
The end result is basically subbing for a login reward every week because you can’t acquire it through any other means. And THAT is poor game design - the only barrier between you and what you want is an artificially time gated hour per week instead of a challenge to be overcome. Subs not because the game is fun but because the supposed fun is an hour per week away 7 weeks into the future.
And again this is without referring to yesterday’s changes.
