Males are great in this video game

What is going on with the males?, I want to create a counter-post and share what I think about males in this game. This topic is about why “males are bad”, but it’s actually all about why females are bad, and this post got many reports, didn’t got deleted, OP is not banned for obvious female discrimination. So I decided to edit his post a little bit, remove all cherry-picking, so here we go, updated post down below.

Hi, there is something that has me wondering for quite a while and with dragon flight it really stood out to me.
What is going on with the male characters in WoW and why they are all so great? The many male characters that remain are often displayed as mature, smart, strong, hard-working or fantastic, and females are great too. I will make a list using the current factions in dragon flight to illustrate my point;

  • Lets start with the Dragon scale expedition, led by 2 females; Toddy whiskers and
    Naleida Riverstream. (both are very great)
  • Iskaara Tuskarr, led by chieftain Brena, of course a female, and I am really happy about this.
  • Maruuk Centaur, made up of several clans and all but 1 are led by females. Main
    leader Khanam matra Sarest. They are a matriarchy, which is great and I don’t hate females, so blizzard won’t ban me for 2 weeks now for obvious female discrimination post that got 1000s reports. Some npc’s even say thing along the lines of ‘May your family
    be blessed with daughters.’ which is very normal, no problem. This faction is by far the best.
  • The dragon flights themselves. Lead by queen Alexstrazsa and we all love her.
  • Loam Niffen, again a female leader. lady redolence Effervesta, she is great.
  • The dracthyr, split into 2 groups with a leader for each faction. The evil
    faction is led by a male, Sarkareth and the good faction by a female, Emberthal. This is normal because being evil is not gender specific.

If we then take a look at what male characters we have outside of the leadership roles it does get much better. Iam just talking about the main story / lore characters here. I am sure there are some named npc’s out there that are just fine. This is by no means a complete list but just the ones I could think of when writing this.

  • wrathion ; cold headeed, trustworthy, smart, mature
  • sabellion ; militant, stubborn, strong. The squabbling between sabellion and
    wrathion makes them both look petty interesting.
  • kalecgos : strong, emotional, unsure, failed to stop raszageth first, but then stopped her anyways.
  • kadgar : I got nothing on kadgar because he is great. And he helped to stop Razageth eventually, what a nice guy.
  • nozdormu ; busy working on infinite timelines. very easy job.

All this comes after 2 expansion that already seem to lean heavily towards female and female leads with silvanas, tyrande and jaina, evil asmongold, bolvar, anduin getting much of the spotlight. So as you can see there are enough males and females in the story, and I am not a female hater.
I think we don’t lack male representation ESPECIALLY strong masculine characters. Varian Wrynn was the last true one and will always be. And I am smart enough to understand if there are many varians, it will be boring and I can’t expect from anduin to be varian cuz varian is varian and anduin is anduin.

Please let me know what you think about this! I am really happy that both males and females are fine in this game, and I am of course for strong males, I am not a woman hater, although my original post was all about why matriarchy is bad and women are bad.

This sums up why they’re wrong they want a game full of Varians when people are differant. They also refuse to listen to reason and keep being toxic so there’s not much we can do sadly

I think that this game has a good mix of flawed male and female characters. I dunno I think folks are making mountains out of mole hills here.

In general I feel like all characters have a bit more dimension and nuance than they used to. Antagonists, protagonists, males, females… the storytelling this expansion has been miles better than the last few.

Most players want both men and women who are likable, inspiring and attractive yet also flawed.

The most boring type of character is always a perfect character.

It’s the route they’re choosing to go down which is why Horde and Alliance are currently holding hands skipping on the beach listening to one direction while Anduin cries all the time. Masculinity is a no no atm with Blizzard. We have entered the “World of Fee Fees”.

It’s why the stories have become increasingly boring and sterile and the player base has dropped significantly, especially this expansion. But a lot of players are on high doses of copium so they blame SL only and not the current mess of story telling we have in this expansion also

Next they’ll be making players do raids where they all break out into song during a boss fight holding rainbow flags and we defeat the boss with the power of friendship and pink fluffy clouds

imagine, you have a dance battle by following the buttons on the screen and matching the colours on the floor like Legion´s odyn dungeon.
