I presume like all the cosmetics with the Abominations you just keep doing the weekly quests until you get the reward.

wowhead comments state that it became available as soon as they hit rank 5.
it’s been months since i completed it

According to the comments:-

This was an award for me from Mama Tomalin’s Pie Not? quest. It did not appear as an award until I hit rank 5 Abomination Stitching.

Though many say they got it from other quests too. It has taken me some time to finish collecting the stuff from the Abominations and the Unity set due to the RNG nature of quest rewards.

thats litteraly what i just said

and i still dont see the quests

after months

It has taken my friend and I months to get them too. It seems slightly RNG based.

Just unlocked Mama Tomalin with my DH because I wanted the green version of the crystals, too…

I honestly find it quite meh already having to grind exalted for transmogs already. The individual covenant events added to that with an apparently not so overwhelming droprate sound even worse…

there are some suspicions about a hidden rep requirment for the stitchmaster if you check the comments about the mog on wowhead, might be exalted with them…
dont have the time to farm that rep for now, so crossin fingers i wont have to do it

There is a similar crystal which is a bit more blueish-green you can get for exalted from the necros trade npc for covenant armor. I got it with my druid, but my dh can’t wear it until he’s exalted himself… which is a bit exaggerated in my opinion… Would be hilarious if they put a hidden rep requirement behind it. Gonna check with druid right now. Might increase drop chances if you do the weekly with more chars anyways.

yeah got all the others and was super dissapointed when i realized i needed exalted for that one…
its not the only reward like that, they are tons. super annoying.

Also annoying is the fact that you can’t take redeemed souls with you to another covenant. I have 95 on Fae and now have to farm another 90 in order to upgrade stitching on the char with exalted rep… Inefficiency has a name and it’s Shadowlands…

oh yeah…

and also im usin alts to farm world bosses to get easy 500 anima if i just park them on antros, or 1K if im bothered doing the base zones one too.

i can buy 1k anima for 1K, and send it over. cosmic flux is different, u loose a bit durin the process

but so, if sendin anima is the exact same, why not make anima account bound? u have 300 or 600 extra here and there, could make 2 or 3 extra k to buy somethin but know, gotta go to zm inn, use anima, go to oribos, buy anima, go downstairs send mail, go back up, back to zm, fly back to antros.

i have tons of those anima drops in some bags now, ofc im not doin it everytime im gettin some, but this is so anti ergonomic for no reason

Yeah, luckily I have 80k anima by now which I can trade around alts. Still can’t get over transmog rep restrictions for alts though. If your main hit exalted and got the transmog, it should be available for all your alts since you already put in the effort to get it.

Actually another thing that would speak for account wide reputation. The char based rep bars unnecessarily complicate even the most simple unlocking processes that should only be required to do once. Grinding for days in order to be allowed to use a single transmog on your alt which you already obtained after endless rep grind with your main is just ridiculous. Account wide currencies and reputation should seriously be very up on their to do list.

yeah, my jaw dropped when i started to realize this… tbf i didnt expect that, i felt i just wasted so much time. i unlocked mogs on chars and i didnt want it for them but to use them for another, since i had some reps done before we could swap covenants… feels a bit like a scam, meh

i think reputation farmin on one char is fine, but anythin attached to it should be account wide yes, once u unlocked them besides maybe titles since titles are very rpg-esque.

currency, 100%, especially if we get another system like the world quest rewards based on how much u invested on ur structures, now we can trade anima, but before?

the system feels very outdated, times change, u cant expect ppl to redo same things for hours. netflix literaly said they want to fight sleep since they are in competition with sleep for our attention… wow is in competition with social networks, streamin and other games, u cant expect ppl to farm same things for hours on end in 2022, its over, vanilla doesnt exist anymore.

I’m not sure if parts of the system are just outdated or quite frankly, openly fooling the playerbase. I’m an avid achievement hunter and was meant to hit 100 exalted factions weeks ago. The moment I got the last bar completed, the count jumped back to 92. Why? Because 14 years ago, I decided to switch from shadow priest main to balance druid main and consequently started to farm all future reputation with druid. Like “Ops, SORRY! We just recognised you did those 8 factions with another char two decades ago, so might care to do them again with your current main before we give you that achievement???” I was so damn gutted I can’t even tell. The count went up without any issues but the moment the achievement was about to be accomplished it suddenly checks for actual completion on the same character? Right…

must have been frustratin… i dont farm as much as u do, i just try to get the mogs/mounts i want to use, thats it

did u open a ticket about it? tbh if they announced u had 1 rep to farm left, u do it and u loose 8, this is a technical issue on their end and they should make it up to you

when i started to read your post, was about to say im pretty sure its an update thing. they probably set the achievement so that there is a “check” to make sure u did it all before grantin it, so they checked the char only when u should have had the achiev pop up
but u seem to think its on purpose… idk, cant tell

i know blizzard has a very bad rep, not white knightin, but i work in data and tech, those small issues are everywhere sadly

if the achiev is supposed to be unlocked on one character only, sorry it got your hopes up for nothin and im afraid they wont grant it if thats the rule

tbh i got mad for some mogs i casually farmed patiently for weeks i think it would have trashed my screen if i had this happen to me

But that’s the point. It shouldn’t be a char based achievement. If I’ve already put in the effort to farm exalted with one char, the invested time should be enough of “credibility” to make it count for a meta achievement. People change their taste and preferations regarding gameplay. They shouldn’t be forced to do achievements over decades with the same char in order to get them. Nor should alts (originating from alternative) be prevented to profit from a player’s effort put into the game.

They made it possible to skip entire questlines if your main has absolved them. A rather “quick” accomplishment compared to the time consuming activity of reputation grind for exalted, which can take you months in some cases. Especially when it comes to micro rep farm factions from Classic. Why is that effort not equally worthy to give alts an advantage? Or if I switched mains or decided to pause gaming for years and then reroll with another char but still have that one half filled exalted bar on my old main, why can’t it nonetheless count for an overall account wide reputation achievement that appropriately honours the time a player has already put in?

And writing a ticket, well… customer service at Blizzard isn’t half as helpful as you’d expect in such situations.

i agree that this achiev should be shared, i mean that if you get exalted on one char for 3 reps, another for 2 reps, you have 5

however idk for the progression of the rep per se. if you return from a break then finish the rep with the toon youre close with, and then do the others with another toon (if i understood ur point correctly)

i think what should be unlocked for account wide is what you get, not what youre workin on
i got anima from various sources, but im not workin towards it
same for mogs and mounts, i unlocked them and can use them on a char

to keep a bit of rpg elements, as i said above, title should remain char specific, i think its cool

Rep progression for one faction of course should be done with the same char. But as soon as they reach exalted, it should count for all chars making the reputation overview account wide but the option to progress one faction character based. Covenants just showed it again that there sometimes are factions which make farming reputation more sensible to certain classes. For example due to abilities, equip, recipes etc. I agree that reputation titles should be restricted to the chars that actually achieved exalted.

Update: So I upgraded stitching to rank 5 today with my druid, who also is exalted with Undying Army. After having done the weekly last week with her on stitching rank 3 without getting the crystal, today it was instantly in the rewards for the weekly. Exalted reputation + rank 5 stitching therefore might indeed be the way to go with for 100 % drop chance.
