Mana Break removed from game in 9.1

DH being PRUNED again in an expansion that was supposedly all about “the great unpruning”.

Mana break was never used? Like ever, mana rift is far superior but even that isn’t used anymore the go to pvp talents are generally reverse magic cover of darkness and mortal rush/detainment depending if you need MS or not

It’s getting replaced by Glimpse, they had to remove a pvp talent to add a new one since every specs need to have the same number of those. Assassination is having the exact same thing. Beside mana break was useless anyways, glimpse is a big upgrade from it.

Wasn’t Glimpse in BFA too? Except when you used vengeful retreat it would give you blur? They must have removed it in S4 BFA

Yeah they removed it at the end of BFA, they really went all in with the nerfing of every defensives dh had. New glimpse seems pretty cool though.

Saying that have you thought about going necro? The defensive and burst side is mental! I swapped last week and haven’t thought twice about going back

I am currently venthyr because I mostly raid these days.

New necro does look pretty sweet but, especially in bgs but I think the hunt still tops it in arenas. I kinda hope both become baseline after the xpac though.

Would be pretty cool! Ah yeah that’s fair enough dude, venthyr is pretty decent I played it in beta at least. The only reason why I didn’t go venthyr on live is because for can be dispelled and I’m mainly a pvp guy :sweat_smile:

It can be good in bgs where you can put it on everyone in a time fight with meta.

Glimps sounds cool but wont see any play. If they make it so it removes roots it would maybe see play against two comps, otherwise it’s not ever worth picking. DH lacks surv (lika a lot), glimps give a 2sec 75% dmg reduction (while you cant do anything else) and only if you sacrifice another pvp talent. If you then also can completely counter it with a pre root (rogue+mage) its just meeh.

I tested in PTR today it is Indeed until you land. Vengeful retreat into a rain from above and you have yourself 8 seconds of 75% dmg reduction

Why would you take glimpse over the much better pvp talents? Also funny they had to make it 75%, they’re so scared of giving DH 100% immunity for 2 seconds when you can’t do anything else. Meanwhile rogue can keep attacking with 100% dodge and 100% magic immunity for 10 seconds. Or spriest who presses dispersion and gets 90% damage reduction and heals back 50% of their health. Can’t let the hated stepchild DH have anything good like those favored classes.

Could be really good going into RM comp if you’re being bursted on by mage you could use vengeful retreat + rain from above as a defensive - the mage can still get you in the air and will think that you’re an easy target and vulnerable use his combust into your dmg reduction. You could bate a stormkeeper burst into vengeful retreat + rain from.above and make an ele shaman use his offensive cds through your 75% dmg reduction if used properly this is an amazing defensive.

The only necessarily pvp.talent at the moment is reverse magic which for a very small amount of comps you can get away with not taking this. Detainment is nice but not necessary and mortal rush again is great but DH has always worked well with other classes which offer a MS affect so no real need to take this talent

If glimpse continues into Rain from Above then I wonder if that’s intended or a bug they will fix.

Im not entirely sure however the tooltip states cc immunity and 75% damage reduction until you land rather than for the duration of vengeful retreat I have also tried vengeful retreat into glide and it persists there too
