Marksman Hunters Lost Their Pets? Why?

I’ve played my Marksman Hunter since January 2003, and suddenly, I have no pet at all. It took me three weeks to figure out what was going on—I thought maybe I picked the wrong talent build and just overlooked an option. But no, I still have Call Pet, Tame Pet, and Pet Lore abilities… yet my pet is just gone.

Why is it always all or nothing? Why remove the option entirely? If MM Hunters aren’t supposed to have pets anymore, why are those abilities still active? It’s confusing and misleading. I don’t want to respec—I just want my pet back.
