Marksmanhunters, I guess we're stuck with a stationairy owl

Most of you will agree with me that the hype about the DR rework was real. I was counting down the resets, hoping I could finally play something different than Sentinel in M+ and raids. Most of you will probably also agree that the endresult is just utterly dissapointing.

Seeing that even the ST builds have been reworked to Sentinel just hurts. The new DR rework is visually pleasant, but simply results in a major dps loss on all scenarios. So it seems we’re stuck with an annoying, stationairy (Blizz, atleast make it follow the target…) starpooping owl for now. As a hunter main since vanilla I’m seriously considering just switching to DK and faceroll my way to the top of the dps charts.

That is really upsetting to hear. Will be doing some sims when game stops crashing. I really do not like Sentinel all the time.
I absolutely love Dark Arrow builds as they are just fun and I wanted the abilities since the day Sylvanus was first introduced to Wow (Been playing since Alpha O_O).

Hopefully this is just a first stage pass and some buffs will come later when things settle with current Anniversary event.

thing is it plays really well, the overall dmg just isnt there yet, but tbh its playable if you REALLY hate sent

it does play very well, but sadly won’t be very viable in higher M+ keys since you’ll practically be forced to go Sentinel for the AOE potential. ST is a general weakness for MM, regardless of the hero talents.

I was so hopefull the combined strength of Bleak Poweder, Shadow Surge, Withering Fire and the synergy with Razor Fragments would give us the slightest shot to be on par with Sentinel. Hell, I’d already be happy if DR would’ve been the vastly superior ST spec of the 2, but apperantly we can’t have either.

I like the new design of dark ranger, my hope is that blizzard can do some proper tuning to make Dark Ranger viable both in aoe and ST.

I am sick as hell of Sentinel and especially of Lunar Storm. After playing it for 2 months as non alternative for m+ MM hunter, my view changed from seeing it as a nice Kaldorei themed hero talents to a hateful, super annoying and yet mandatory playstyle where you pray every 15 seconds that the tank won’t move or that mechanics won’t force him to move, where you hold your rapid fire (your main dps ability) because of this bloody Lunar Storm.

Either make it move with the target, (still not a great solution when the mob dies) or converge lunar storm and volley (so that at least we have to suffer every 45 seconds rather than every 15 seconds and rapid fire no longer tied to it) or delete this ability entirely and redistribute its damage to other spells.

Losing season 3 / 4 DF set bonus playstyle and being forced into this Lunar Storm nonsense has been a very degenerate move playstyle wise on the part of Blizzard.

Please fix this bloody patch and make Dark ranger acturally playable in mythic + i had so much hope and wanna quit curse you compleatly gut the changes curse they are a littel power full here we have shamans do 3mil+ over all in mythic +14 and some pulls with 25 mil dps… what is this !!! FIX it

I can only agree with all of this!
This Dark Ranger overhaul has had me so completely hyped, and after playing it for a few hours, I ended up so utterly disappointed.
All that I do is curse and feel sad I am forced to continue playing with that dumb star-pooping owl that flies circles above my enemies…
I cannot even complete Old Raids from Shadowlands with this damage I am doing as Dark Ranger…
And to close things off, I don’t even feel like playing anymore for the time being… so much I hate Sentinel Playstyle.

its nothing knew that blizzard gives us spells that require mobs to stand in - wild spirits was exactly the same and very very frustating when the tank had to move . As the yrs have been since playing for vanilla , their is more moving required , tanks never used to kite now most have too at some point , mobs never rly moved , now their is so many abilites going off your running / moving 90% of your dungeon timer. Having an ability that is stationary is not cutting it and moving with the times and progress of blizzards dungeons . I really have no clue what they are thinking when the design such things. i like sentinel and how it works but it makes so much sense that it would follow your current target . I have never had a new release where when it has came to hunters they have it got almost right - always a major design flaw every time . We are not asking to be the number one just competitive would be nice.
