Just found this 1H mace using a 2H model from a cataclysm rare in the transmog catalog -

It was added in the BFA prepatch but there’s no information on it whatsoever, no drop source or anything. Since it’s in the catalog, I would assume that it is available somewhere, but I can’t find anything.

Anyone got an idea?

It’s likely just in there for the NPCs to use (for now).

When I say it’s in the catalog, I mean it’s in the in-game catalog, not in a database like wowhead.

When you open the transmog interface and type in Marrow Shatter into the 1H mace category it’s there and listed as a world drop. Which implies to me that it is available somewhere.

All I can find online are some of those crappy website selling it for $$$ but no mention of a drop location.

Yea understood, but it’s highly unlikely it was added over 10 months ago (in 8.0.1) and hasn’t been seen dropping for anyone with a wowhead addon yet.

It’s also listed as “disenchants into a WotLK shard” on the armory, which i find a bit odd, unless they added it as a WotLK timewalking item perhaps. It’s likely a remnant from the 2H weapon they reused the model of.

Edit: The required level (and patch) suggest BfA, the disenchant data suggests WotLK and it’s a direct clone (identical model, icon and stats) of a 2H weapon that drops in Uldum a Cataclysm zone :slight_smile: Quite an odd item :slight_smile:

My best guess would be that they wanted to use it as NPC equipment, cloned the 2-hander to make a 1-hander version, but overlooked the fact that the 2-hander was also available as an actual ingame item, so the 1-hander ended up getting an actual item id assigned, and since it doesn’t have a mob/boss assigned it shows as world drop ?

Quite a leap (and pure speculation) but it’s the only thing i can think off that makes some sense. I guess if it does drop in game, it’d likely be from the same mob as the 2-hander (the Uldum mob), i don’t really know how else that site would get a hold of one otherwise, black market AH? seems unlikely, or maybe some more nefarious source (created with an exploit or some such).

But yea they generally aren’t in the business of giving out more information than is publicly available to everyone.

He basically said it’s a world drop and that it exists in the database :stuck_out_tongue: as vague as can be. It does seem like they’re paid to read back wowhead stats and comments to people.

I’d kinda hope so, it would suck if they had to memorize and recite that kind of information for all wow’s items :slight_smile:

But yea if it does actually drop in game, and isn’t picked up on wowhead, it’s likely either very rare (as world drops can be) or it drops somewhere very obscure (like not in a BfA zone).

You could kill that uldum mob associated with the 2-hander a few times. Or if you’re aware of an npc that uses the item, farm the quests/mobs around there a bit, but the odds aren’t very much in your favor i’m afraid.
