Mass dispel has always had the same effect as a single target dispel. Since shadowlands, a lot of debuffs are no longer dispellable in AOE with mass dispel anymore, specifically debuffs applied by bosses because they are Disease effects which are not covered by Mass Dispel. I may be very wrong in this statement and just had the luxury of never having encountered such content previously.
Purify
Dispels harmful effects on the target, removing all Magic and Disease effects.
Mass Dispel
Dispels magic in a 15 yard radius, removing all harmful Magic from 5 friendly targets and 1 beneficial Magic effects from 5 enemy targets.
I don’t understand why this is a thing. Mass Dispel is something that is niche to priests just like battle rezz is to a few classes, interupting etc.
So why does Mass Dispel get a spell restriction when it comes to debuffs from let’s say Globgrog and Margrave Stradama in Plaguefall? Resto druids don’t have a tooltip on their niche spells saying “You can only use Ironbark on tanks” or “You can only Reincarnate ranged DPS”. Shamans don’t have restrictions on their wolf form either.
Holy priests in particular have been avoided in M+ oriented dungeon content since Legion (for the past 4 years?) and the cycle continues.
What are your thoughts?
P.s. Take this with a grain of salt
