Recently posted on wowhead. The devs are releasing various overhauls for a number of classes. 8 classes in total.
Some of them needed the welcome changes and some of them did not.
My question is: Where the (pleasant word) is the mage changes. IM SORRY but the class in most in dire need of change is the mage.
Each and every single one of our specs are fundamentally flawed. I’m not going to say how they’re flawed as you can just take a look at one of the other posts in the mage forums to find that out. (I did try to put everything in a nutshell but theres too much and id just be repeating other posts)
We really need changes on this class and by the look of the overhauls on the classes, an overhaul could still happen for us but why hasnt. Please blizzard, the mage class in total needs a redesign.
Says a level 68 mage… Get to level 70 spec to fire and no matter how good you play you will be competing with tanks on the DPS meter. Fire is heavily undertuned while Arcane is heavily overtuned.
But I did a test as Fire (which I am not geared for and don’t play much). And no. Unless you are garbage at the game or play with a severely overgeared tank compared to you, you won’t be competing with them. You will be comfortably above them.
Yeah, it’s not the best DPS in the game. It’s still a solid B-tier.
Why don’t you post from your level 70 mage account? I was 3k last season as a Fire mage I know what I’m talking about. Fire is currently at the very bottom of the DPS stack. Check the M+ mage ladder. They are all arcane because Fire sucks big time at the moment.
You’re clearly trolling. Just stop man. Everyone… Everyone! Always puts fire in lowest tier. They’ve even introduced the F tier specifically for fire. Fire is currently the laughing stock of the game…
If that was the case, we could say that Arcane is many times stronger than the other two specs. It would say nothing about mage in general.
Yes, Arcane is currently the strongest mage spec, when it comes to burst DPS. But guess what, one of the specs kind of has to be the best at that.
Is it so much better that every mage is Arcane mage? No. But considering not all mages were firemages during SL, I don’t think there is any amount of imbalance that could force all people to switch into single spec.
Funnily enough, during Season 1 if you didn’t play Fire Mage you either weren’t invited to groups, you were kicked from groups, or people would leave groups. At least up until the mid-season patch anyway.
It wasn’t until Season 2 when Frost was buffed and people started to spread out across.
You’ll be surprised how often I saw that as a Frost mage for the first month of the Expansion.
Not saying that every group was like that, but my god it was tiring hearing “OMG Frost Mage /leaves group”, “Come on Mage do DPS”, “Just checking before we invite, you’re Fire right?”.
