During the Destruction of Dalaran quest to find Khadgar and take the portal to the new zone my FPS goes down to 5! Yes 5 fps. Almost impossible to get to click on the portal for the new zone.
It only happens at that moment. Before and after everything is smooth at my usual 90 FPS
PC is an i7 10700 with 2TB SSD, 32 GB DDR4 Ram and an RTX 3060TI. It runs MSFS as smooth as silk on high settings but cannot handle one particular scene in the War Within. Never ever experienced such a phenomenon before.
This happened to me as well in the same place and my PC has slightly higher specs!
Ryzen 9, 2TB M.2, 64GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3080Ti.
It seemed to happen whenever I faced the rubble behind Khadgar and the portal. When I turned away to face the shop/sewer exit, where you come from, everything would return to normal.
I was shocked when it happened, because similarly, I’ve never once had an FPS drop to that extent on this PC.
Afterwards I had a look in GeForce Experience and it seems to reinforce that I’m using the optimal settings (ultra pre-set) in-game. It’s a mystery to me so far!
I have also had this happen when doing this quest part. Before game runs normal and fine but as soon as I exit the sewers and have to fight the Spiderlord FPS tanks to 5. FPS stays low also for the cutscene that happens after using the portal to leave Dalaran. After that FPS returns to normal.
I tried this with and without my normal addons loaded that I use when playing (no effect) and Graphic settings are optimal and drivers are up to date.
im having issues aswell, lose around 80 frames in the new cities. this happends even if I turn of addons and/or drop the settings from high down to low.
losing frames in major cities has always been a thing but this is on another level
