What is this ? so we dont need collect more item with mastery ?
Can you elaborate please?
Ive have alook at my spec, and I see that there’s a stat, mastery, which is passive. But the other stats like versatility, haste, and critical strike are not passive. I read somewhere that Blizzard made it so that with every ilvl, the mastery stat will increase passively. Does that mean we no longer need to collect gear with mastery, or how should we understand this?
Mastery is still a stat you get from gear in TWW. Nothing has changed for the end user.
All stats are passive. Agility, Stamina, Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, Versatlity etc., they all are passive. And they all contribute to the amount shown on your character screen when you mouse over them
understand so why is passive
As others have said, all stats are passive and alweays have been. But they contribute to your player power, and can all still be acquired from gear, which is also where the lion´s share will stil come from.
Stats passively going up a percent or 2 depending on level for reasons of scaling /playability has always been the case and is in line with traditional RPG progression, otherwise a level 1 would be = a level 70 if both are naked.
I fear either we are all misunderstanding the question, or you´re having a bit of an issue conveying it properly…
really ? no only mastery is passive !!! watch correctly
Sorry, but no, I´m not going to level yet another alt just to confirm that all stats go up with level, because that´s well established.
Or are you talking about some sort of change to mastery specifically that we are apparently all not aware of?
Or are you just getting tripped up by teh mastery tooltip on the character screen that says “passive” because no classes mastery is an active ability but al the result of a passive talent? that has AFAICR always been there ever since mastery was introduced in Wrath or Cata…
Mastery is both a stat and spec a passive in the spell book, they just decided to write “passive” on the stat page under the description of mastery as well in TWW.
Nothing changed.
AH, so that´s what it is, a subvariant of option 2 as a result of an updated tooltip. TY
Because mastery is not a stats that your character has from creation, but is learnt during level up. To better display this, they do with the passive on the book.
This does not change anything. It still has a baseline number that you have without any gear, and any additional mastery rating increases your mastery.
And no, ilvl by itself does not increase mastery. Mastery increases either with buffs, abilities, or rating from gear.
Except Shamans they is made of Mastery
Mastery has a passive ability which increases depending on the amount.
(assuming ele here) Until they hit 100%, at which point ever additional point is a complete waste, because it´s basically a second crit stat and you canot “doublecrit” or “Double-multistrike”
Disclaimer: DF era Mastery, I don´t know if Ele´s mastery effect was changed in TWW.
Hunter Mastery is Master of Beasts which increases pet damage based on how much of the mastery stat you have.
It was kind of a joke - buck naked my Dwarf Shaman has 24% Mastery
AAH, ok… but I´m just a gnome, no surprise it went over my head
That’s because unlike other stats, mastery has a different conversion rate depending on your spec.
Good point… For ex a firemage at masterycap (3600 or 38000 points, cant remember, I think 36) has 83.something % ignite buff, while on a BM hunter that equates to 255% more pet damage, or a fury warrior 170% more damage while enraged, and so on…
Remix was really nice to be able to see just how high some stats could be pushed, esp mastery.
