You said it yourself. When you tell your child Santa is real, you are being deceptive by definition regardless of context.
Yeah and some parents, don’t have stories of santa told to their kids…
And by that metric everyone is deceptive, unless you go around town telling kids that the tooth fairy and santa are LIES.
