Maw Immediate Extermination mechanic

I’m gonna state my opinion loud and clear: Maw Immediate Extermination is a terrible game mechanic.

Currently it blocks me from progressing the campaign, it’s like Blizzard takes your subscription money and doesn’t allow you to progress further due to a stupid time-gating mechanic.

Most time-gating mechanics I can almost tolerate, but this is next level of horrible game mechanics, I really cannot understand why Blizzard doesn’t want us to play their game. Like why would you want to limit the fun amount a player gets?

I also fail to understand the point of time-gated content in an MMORPG, WoW is is not a mobile game AFAIK, but it just might turn into one. I remember the guy with "Don’t you guys have phones? ", probably the same guy with time-gating ideas. :))

How about taking it to next step and completely borrow marketing from mobile games? Just add a shop in game where you can purchase in-game items with real money next. Also maybe add some lootboxes like EA did. Or just add the option to skip time-gates by paying money. I’m just being ironic, of course, not being able to continue campaign because of this game mechanic really struck a nerve.

Here’s how i see it.

FINALLY, I’M DONE WITH THIS GARBAGE ZONE FOR THE DAY.

what do you need in the maw anyways that requires you to go 5/5 every single day ?

I’ve basically been chillin there, doing dailies and weeklies and sometimes a few rares here and there and i’m halfway towards the final reputation.

You’ll get your sockets eventually. don’t worry.

Much hyperbole. How the hell does it stop you progressing the campaign?

Am I the only sadist that likes the hard stuff? It’s like playing GTA with 5 stars and seeing how long you can survive for.

Then do your campaign the next day.

Well if I need to be clear, I need to defeat a boss for the campaign with 5/5 points, 100% heal reduction and life dropping every second when I’m in the beginning of the game, and it’s impossible defeating it without waiting it out for one more day which is incredibly stupid for a game in general.

It’s not linked to the campaign, so how does it stop you progressing?

It is linked, Night Fae campaign when I reach Tyrande

well then that is your own fault for not checking your campaign quest before heading into the maw and getting 5 wanted stars.

right… also my fault for paying subscription in order not to be able to progress in campaign because of a bad game mechanic, you’re probably right

A mechanic you knew full well was there, plan ahead and stop blaming the game for stuff you could easily have planned around.

So…when does it activate? Immediately upon reaching level 5?

To add to dejarous said you knew of the mechanic it is not like it was hidden it is right in the middle of your screen when entering the maw.

You can also easily keep the maw for last and do your callings and other quests first.

That way you make sure that you can do any maw quests .

I found out today about it, if you read the tooltip it just says that Jailer will kill you if you get 5/5, it doesn’t say anything exactly about how it works until you reached the 5th step and only then you can read the debuff description, and if you were unlucky to get the quest after reaching 5/5 in the Maw, then “Definitely your fault” =))))

what do you think will happen if the tooltip says the jailor will kill you?

That he only kills you once?

no you’re not. lots of people like some challenge.

But maw isn’t difficult.

It’s just EXTREMELY BORING AND ANNOYING.

If you’re into boring and annoying, then maw is the zone for you. Because it’s basically something like corrupted zones of patch 8.3, but you can’t mount.

But can you solo all the bonus spawns? I can’t and die a lot, but it’s fun to work out ways of doing it.

they’re not all meant to be soloed.

Just because you can’t solo an lfr raid boss, doesn’t mean it’s difficult.

That’s the point. I want to see if I can. It’s how I make my own fun.

fun if you don’t have to do campaign or anything else serious in there, absolute bullsh*t if you actually have to go in again for a quest.
