Max itemlvl at duelist?

I’ve done some research on the rated conquest gear on wowhead and videos from the beta and here’s what i found:

  • According to wowhead rival gear has an ilvl of 220: see https://www.wowhead.com/item=178352/sinful-gladiators-plate-helmet?bonus=6633:1492
if you check the “See also” tab there are other iteration of the pvp gear with combatant beeing 207 and challenger 213 but duelist or gladiator is missing. Several other conquest items have the same pattern.
  • In stoopzz video about arena gearing, we can see the upgrade tab for conquest gear: https://imgur.com/a/4imeEcb. Here we see upgrade 1/5 which would indicate combatant, challenger, rival, duelist and elite/gladiator, but here is why we got confused: The unranked version is actually upgrade 1/5 and not the combatant one. you can check this yourself with honorgear ingame where the base version is 1/7 already or in the screenshot.

This means we will only have 4 upgrades for the conquest gear:

  • Unranked: 1/5 at 200
  • Combatant: 2/5 at 207
  • Challenger: 3/5 at 213
  • Rival: 4/5 at 220
  • Duelist: 5/5 at 226

Thoughts?

Sounds good

Nice - finally they adjusted the difficulty level.

I’m wondering what you’d get at Gladiator rank then. 233 gear? Would finally make sense.

I have a feeling tho that the item you linked may be wrong. If you check the Elite and Rival version it’s also at 220 ilvl

I don’t believe it will. I think it will cap at duelist. Mythic raid gear is 226 and few pieces from last two bosses are 233 if I’m right.

i have doubts on wowhead as well in that case. However there are still only 4 rating upgrades on the beta with the first one on combatant already. we can only speculate but i rly hope that duelist equals mythic gear. this would actually enable us to get bis pvp gear in week 1 or 2 already

I actually think pvp gear should be not rating locked…
going from rival to duellist will be pretty hard when people got 13 ilvl overall more than you.

kind of meh alltogether.
Also will buying a one time boost to unlock the achievement give you free upgrades for the rest of the season to that ilvl?

Those seem way too high. Getting Challenger is a faceroll.

I’d argue Rival is also way easier than Heroic raiding.

Kinda but you get maximum 2 PvP conquest items a week as conquest cap is 1500 and it doesn’t grow and second you might get from Vault.

I dont agree with higher rating reward higher gear because its just stupid in competetive pvp but its still 1000x better then BFA so im happy.

Were do you get this number from and is it confirmed? I can’t find anything on it. My guess was 500-1000, 1500 seems quite generous tbh.

220 ilvl since AFK in RBG sounds good. :upside_down_face: Atleast last time i played 2K RBG players do DPS like they boosted RL friends.

At the start of bfa this happened too and was then changed so I don’t have high hopes, but it would be nice to not need 2.4 for max gear. Rating shouldn’t even affect gearing imo, it should just make you get it faster.

Earning budget gear through PvP has historically always been easier than earning gear through raiding. PvP gear just never competed with high-end raiding gear. With the return of the PvP vendor, any class that values resilience in PvE is forced to PvP to target buy pieces for progress. This was no different in the old days.

It should always be like this if ur better u should get better rewards back in wotlk abd cata u got a wepon skin and better weapon then others on 2.2

BTW it is again possible to drop a piece after a win or no longer with the vendor?

This looks pretty good if it’s true. I was worried that good gear will be gated behind high rating but it looks like that PvP gearing is also viable for the average PvP players.

Rival is 2200?

2100 10chars

rival is 1800 and duelist is 2100
