100% true. I even said in legion that most people are only doing it for the gear and nothing else. thats why so many people are just doing a +14 /15 for the vault and dont push higher. but all said “oh no we do it for the fun”. complete bs. most people are doing their 1 weekly key and thats it. m+ is a trash system anyway that never should have been a thing in wow because now blizzard also need to balance that piece of crap.
The sad part is that people yelling “lack of content”, “low gear drop”, “walk in the maw is excruciating” (wonder how these snowflakes would cope with leveling 1-40 in vanilla, without a mount), their sole purpose is INFINITE GRINDING of POWER (gear or other forms of power).
I mean min-maxers seem to not know how to play the game for the FUN of playing a FUN game anymore.
If you don’t like it don’t do it
I don’t know why you guys are being so toxic about it.
PvP this expansion so far has been way easier to gear than M+ and I don’t see anyone saying anything about it.
I play M+ because raids are boring, you have to wait ages between every pull and there’s always a few people making stupid mistakes, even in mythic. In M+ I can just go in LFG, find a group in 5 minutes, fly there and blast the key in 30-40 minutes which is fun for me, I used to love HC in TBC and it reminds me of that, you actually have to use your entire kit, not just afk dps rotation. What I don’t like is the fact that some weeks even if you do 10 14s you might still not get anything worth it in your vault and sadly the cap at ilvl 220 won’t help me in anyway but I get that I’m a minority.
Same, at a certain point I don’t play for loot anymore, but the challenge. I like to push higher and higher keys because it gives me a reason to work towards and find the perfect talents, legendary, stat priority, rotation, etc.
At a certain level of mythics you don’t get away with a mediocre playstyle and the ilvl carrying you.
no. its about many people are playing 1 type content. like pvp only. raid only or m+ only. and raid and pvp are giving same maximum gear ilvl. and m+ doesnt ! so they wanted that valor system to have a chance to work on same gear like 233 weapons and 226 gear.
blizzard wants to hold players in their game for much time as possible and let them play every content + missions, WQ, petbattles, AV… etc
and thats the full discussions not every gamer wants to play all in-game stuff to get best gear or other rewards. like in BFA top tier arena players need to play pve because of the best gear they need for their content. now there happy - now m+ only players want to be happy too
only m+ key i enjoyed this season was spires 5 or a 6
did sanguine yesterday +6 12 deaths
seems ppl dont know how to dodge traps or the mistdancer mob
rest of it was easy but the mistdancer and chamber sentinel does big knockback damage
yeah low keys and LFR what you are playing is all about learning. when u think u cant learn anymore there or its to easy for you. then go pve in a higher tier and dont blame them.
or perhaps dont run the dungeon on m+ if you dont know basic stuff
except the mistdancer/chamber sentinel mobs the run was good
Cant wait to play DoS for 2h straight without timer
I’ve done alot of M+ this Season so far and I have a few things to say about it.
During Vanilla, TBC and Wotlk running Dungeons was always my favourite part of the game. I returned at the end of Legion/Start BFA and played mostly casually. Season 1 of Shadowlands is the first time I have taken M+ seriously and pushed towards KSM (which I finally obtained this week).
Now, overall I have enjoyed the M+ experience, but it has been extremely frustrating.
I most enjoyed how challenging the instances have been. It’s been tough, and the difficulty level and learning curve of new Dungeons is always what I look forward to in a new expansion.
What I enjoyed least, like many others, is the lack of reward. Yes! there is an amazing Mount at KSM Achieve. But I mean on a run to run basis. Low loot is annoying, but has added to the challenge. Even after the Anima reward buffs a few weeks back, the reward from run still feel lacklustre.
Maybe a seasonal transmog set, where the 3 reward is a cosmetic piece. M+5-9 Normal, +10-14 Heroic, 15-20+ Elite style. This can also be attached the great vault, 1 M+ Vault = Normal piece, 2x Vaults = Heroic Piece, 3x Vaults = Elite Piece.
The Dungeon sets which came out with Shadowlands launch are the ugliest I’ve seen since WoD’s dungeon sets.
Also maybe add a couple more (semi)unique model mounts. I had so much fun farming Sharkbait in BFA (and the other 2 which didn’t drop for me). The Necrotic wake mount in SL, isn’t remotely unique enough for me to want to farm it.
Loot Drops. Now I have already said that low loot drops have added to the challenge. But we were told that we should be targeting particular items. But how are we supposed to get those items if they don’t drop? Once again, I’ve achieved KSM with far from optimal gear and BiS items.
But for me, now the challenge is over, I’d like to move into just farming the instances for gear for my alts now. I think this will make M+ alot more accessible in later patches of the expansion.
Finally, Affixes… I just don’t like them. I respect they are there to try to give M+ a Flavour of the Week. But they are just annoying more than anything. I personally, would rather they remove them and just make the dungeons harder. But that won’t happen, but they seriously need looking at. At the moment they define what is a “push week” or a “not push week”. They shouldn’t, they should just require you to adjust your gameplay accordingly.
Good luck explaining that to the wow community and not talking about the minority here on the forums.
It’s more that doing M+ is currently the least effective way to get gear
I like M+, but why would I bother if I can just hop in some BG’s and get a starter set of gear to do content with there?
Worldquests give higher ilvl reward then M0’s even
Or gear was so rare that we are gearing via the vault and have to do some activities in order to get some choices.
I do my four weekly M+ purely for the vault.
Players are more reward oriented than ever.
If raids suddendly dropped no gear nobody would do raids more than once anymore
I like m+ for being m+, i like that its a mode that lets everyone play at a level that is challenging for them. I kept doing m+ through bfa long after i was done gearing, and will probably be the same for SL.
I love m+ since Legion but atm i just do not find one dungeon fun or good looking for example Shrine in BFA looked amazing but hate the game play but there is nothing in SL that stands out atm maybe at a push DoS but even i rate that 3/10
Some Dungeons allow pack experimenting but Prideful Affix halts all of it.
I hate M+ and it has nothing to do with gear.
I hated M+ the moment it got introduced because of timer.
Challenge was fine, difficulty of mobs/bosses is fine too, but timer is what ticks me off instantly and makes me not want to do it at all.
‘go go go’ mentality is being fed with this, groups get toxic if you wipe once, people leave, now you even have the damn addon that rates you and turns the whole thing into an e-sport instead of an enjoyable, adventure-like experienced with a good amount of challenge and decent rewards.
I agree with you m8. The ones that know how to play, should be able to finish the dungeon faster, the ones that are less hardcore will wipe untill they either quit or succed. Just like raiding works. If you are a hardcore raider, you get to fight for world 1st, if not, you make it on your own pace.
Why would you need to involve that timer … what’s next, raids on timer aswel ? I get it, I remember ZA timed and the bear mount, but it was cosmetic related, not power progression.
Simply becasue we loved to push our selfs and pull loads of packs to finish the dungeon faster, while leveling, doesn’t mean we love to wreck our nerves with an M+ being timed all the time. They could leave the leaderboard with timers, like a hall of fame, but not make it based arround TIMED RUN!
