Maybe time to BAN AH-addons?

a trillion pages of 5 copper wool cloths with this lag?

Maybe your game not woring very well with your windows 98 servers with this many auctions posted with addons?

Just saying. Or fix it some other way pls.

Or they should deploy the retail AH - cause it’s just better and doesn’t detract from the game in any way.

Wool and silk was always cheap lol. AH works properly - like example iron ore or mithril have pretty high prices.

It’s not cheap when you have to waste 1 hour to buy 8 stacks to skill up first aid.

People that still list 100 mats in stacks of 1 deserve to do it imo.

Must be absolute madlads doing this with that lag

Give us the retail AH Interface instead of banning addons and forcing us to use the scam-infested 500 steps to buy or sell vanilla interface.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the retail AH?

Sure the current lag makes buying singe posted items a pain, and most people mass post using addons like TSM, but that is an issue with the loot and interaction lag not the AH.

Retail AH doesn’t support a heathy competitive economy, instead people just auto post items at the current price and values just stabilize and sit at whatever they happen to sit at and makes using the AH no different than buying/selling with a NPC vendor.

This would be the best fixes saves scrolling through millions individual cloth

The retail AH functions in a way that absolutely promotes competitive economy. It’s most recent post sell first - the difference being you don’t need to undercut infinitely and tank the market.

It’s a better experience for buyers and a more profitable experience for sellers.

And none of that requires addons, pretending the AH is useable without addons in classic is kinda disingenuous.

Even the biggest classic andys wouldn’t mind retail AH, but blizzard does. Also, TSM should be banned for automation

No you’re not alone. The new AH is not an AH it’s a shop! Yoou can’t even always see the seller, you buy some from him and some from her without having any say … You’re totally right!

I don’t use addons, I HATE the new AH so no, you’re not rigth!

What an odd argument.

No, on a normal sized server you know the bots / goldsellers and do not want to buy their auctions, so knowing the seller is a must. The old AH with bids and buyout AND sellers is the rigth and Classic thing to have.

Could make it simple, by only allowing 20 auction going at any one time, pr account pr server. 20 auction is plenty enough if people post full stacks. There might be a handfull of people that spend all the time playing the AH, that thinks it’s limiting, but it should be enough for 99% of the players. People just have to stop posting those 1 stack crafting items.

Never used any addon for ah… not retail not classic… just look up the price and go 1s cheaper easy why need a addon for this???

Every time I’ve used the retail AH I’ve been able to see the sellers name (yes, I too like to see that). Though it’s not visible at first sight, you need to point the cursor on the auction, iirc now, it is something like that anyway.
That said, not even being able to see who is selling would beat this crapmess of a classic AH ui by a ton.

This would be so much better than the retail AH shop
Plenty enough for normal people. You have my vote. And we small sellers can still post our 10 linen cloths in one stack

You can with some auctions, not like Linen or other low levels iirc, but can you say: I want his goods, not her?
And I sorely miss the bid option.

The problem isn’t the number of items and limiting the number of auctions would just mean some professions would have a limited selection on AH. Because people would concentrate on what they know will be profitable with those 20 slots. The cost is variety. All without solving the problem.

The problem is the posting/cancelling and to a lesser extent I suspect constant scanning of the AH in order to do the first two things.

It’s a hard one to solve. If it’s possible to constantly cancel/repost people will be constantly doing it. Not because they necessarily want to, but know that someone else will be, and if you don’t you will never be the cheapest item (which people will be buying).

I was in favour of a bulk API that would actually make the processes of cancel scan/repost faster, have less impact on the servers (it’s more efficient for them to bulk cancel/repost than handle each transaction separately) but put a cooldown on the bulk actions. Then make it very hard for addons to be doing that on a unit by unit basis (you need to make sure that the bulk sellers are all using the bulk API and not using it once, then using the normal AH API to fill in between).

But, that would take actual work on Blizzard’s part and as we know they seem very disinterested in putting any more time than absolutely necessary for classic.
