I hope there’s a useful step in between these two, but at some point… yeah.
The game is literally breaking for the Alliance faction. If they don’t fix this they’re just gonna have to straight up remove factions. If it continues long enough it’ll be just like the imbalanced servers - except worldwide. Alliance will become the wrong choice - possibly unplayable for new players - and half the game’s content will be lost.
No, it’s definitely about that. You got what Blizzard promised, and in addition they’re trying to fix faction balance. You’re not interested in pulling yourself up so much as you’re interested in throwing the Alliance down.
Yes, it is. Leia is a fair but elusive princess that has incredible defensive strength. That’s literally exactly like the elves in LotR for example.
I didn’t suggest you were copying her, I suggested you have similar taste - so it’s no surprise that you were already having similar taste before meeting.
I mean the fact that you’re even playing the same race and gender suggests that anyway. There’s 23 races in the game, each of two genders, that’s 46 races. Assuming equal distribution (which is not the case, Highborne are quite rare, but I’ll give you that benefit) there’s a 2% chance of meeting another of your own race.
And then the similar names on top.
And you’re even in the same thread being mad about the same thing for the same reason.
Well, they might as well pull the plug on the game now, because if your going to expect people to pay to play and then punish them because a few people on the forums have hurt feelings (like you), then you have no game.
It’s people’s choice.
Part of the Horde thrill is being able to play something that doesn’t look like it’s a cheapo copy from LOTR. (Except Blood Elves.)
We didn’t get what Blizzard promised, because they said that the core races were the focus and the allied races would come later. If they focused on the Legion Allied races in 9.1, then I’m sure many of us would have been fine with that.
It’s the fact that here we see what Alliance fanatics really want. Superiority, not balance.
9.2/9.2.5 could have been the start for the BFA allied races.
Arwen and Galadriel are Elven names.
Leia is not an “elf” name. It’s a name of a character I liked from the 1970’s decade, until Disney and Hollywood ruined the films.
It’s hard not to have the same tastes when the options are so limited.
Literally, their is only 1 skin colour option for Nightborne, because blue and green look terrible.
That’s ironic considering the fact that you’re arguing against measures that are literally destroying the game for one of two factions.
I completely agree with that, but historically it was fairly close to 50:50. I think that was reflective of people’s actual preferences.
What’s happening now is no longer about preferences. It’s a social force moving people to “the big city”.
As in real life, the only way to stop this is to make it prohibitively annoying or expensive to do that.
One step they could take, which I frankly shocked they haven’t taken already, is to make it free to migrate from Horde to Alliance. Instead they decided to make it even cheaper to change faction, which means that this exodus to the Horde just accelerated.
Again, there’s a lot of steps between inconveniencing the Horde and fixing the Alliance. Throw everything at it, and do it before the situation gets so bad we will actually have to hurt the Horde faction to fix this.
Now, you did get what Blizzard promised unless you consider Blizzard overdelivering on another promise to be them underdelivering on yours. If that is the case, and let’s be honest it is, then you’re simply jealous.
I was referring to what people mainly pick. It’s the white option.
No you don’t get it and being deliberately obtuse.
Blizzard said we wouldn’t get allied race features until after Shadowlands released. Cool, fine, ok…nobody complains.
Nightborne features is not asking for the destruction of the Alliance. Will you get a grip? Getting Nightborne features now won’t destroy the Alliance.
No it wasn’t
The three commanding races were always Humans, then Blood Elves, then Night Elves.
In 2006, the Alliance basically dominated.
And if that doesn’t work, then we’ll punish people for picking Horde!
Thank god, your not in charge because that is what would happen and I would be glad to see your game go out of business.
They promised you nothing and delivered something, though not everything, that they… didn’t promise.
It’s not about being obtuse. It’s like if someone promises you to deliver half a cake and then they show up with half a cake plus another quarter cake you don’t like, and then you start screaming a hissyfit at the guy who starts eating the other cake because that wasn’t promised.
Get. over. yourself.
I already said it isn’t.
I said Blizzard picked out a special case due to faction imbalance. You will get your updates, and I will be happy about that - but priorities.
Yes, which is why they added Blood Elves.
Oh look! They’ve literally done this exact thing once already! And it worked. God forbid they try again.
Like, it’s not even the same thing in principle. It’s literally the same race!
The purpose of that punishment would be to remove it as soon as possible to avoid punishment of the other faction.
Can you not see that doing nothing, in this case, causes a punishment for the side that you just don’t give a toss about?
And can you not see that this is player choice! Your the idiot who would, metaphorically, put a gun to somebody’s head and demand they pick a race from the blue side.
That would KILL the game. You can’t do that! People will pick whichever side they want. If somebody likes the Trolls, they will pick a Troll. If they like Tauren, then Mulgore awaits. Picks a Blood Elf…hello Eversong.
Little you and your demands won’t change anything.
“Priorities.” More like, “Blizzard should only focus on us Alliance until we get full equality which is actually, superiority because we will then decide what is enough and Horde players will accept our demands onto them! And if new players even think of trying the Horde faction, then we will revoke their account and issue them with an email, advising that they need to consent that their first character will be Alliance.”
No, Blizzard decides when it’s enough - and I’d suggest it’s enough when the Alliance stops bleeding players and has a sustainable playerbase with which to play with.
That’s probably going to happen at around 40-60 or 45-55 in favour of Horde or somehwere around there there.
If the tables flip and it ends up with the Horde constantly bleeding players and a 70-30 faction balance in favour of Alliance - well, same problem, same solutions.
And if they wanna pick a Dwarf, then they’ll pick a Dwarf and then end up realising that there are no decent guilds, sigh their heart out, and race change to a Goblin because they like that second best and alliance isn’t viable to play for them.
You must remember how sad the core races were though, when these “allied races” were new and came out.
Being a loyal dwarf and tauren player, it made me sad seeing my allied counterparts, knowing I was a basic b*tch.
