This quest was designed for raid/mythic geared characters
it’s impossible to do on a character with low ilvl , rust-eye the clever 2 shots me every time while I am unable to do any damage to him
we have to play all way through normal then hc and then mythic dungeons just to unlock mechagnomes while blizzard said we only need a lvl 120 character
nerf the quest chains for allied races plz it’s ok if you have to have a lvl 120 character, but it takes forever to get gear good enough to complete the quest
Becoming Mythic-raid geared is a decent job, but just gearing for a quest doesn’t take that long.
It literally rains 410/415 BoA gear in the current zones. You’re still wearing some ilvl 217, and largely 260/270 gear. You should do the 8.2 intro stuff, unlocking nazjatar and giving lots of ~385 gear right away. then do the questline to get your neck upgraded and then ideally unlock the new zones.
I’d be suprised if you can’t up your characters average itemlevel by a full 100 points (!!!) in an hour of playing.

You likely already have [The Wolf’s Offensive] or [Send the Fleet] in your questlog, but that guide should break it down further.
You do a few quests there to unlock your home base and it’ll unlock the 385 gear vendor there for you (with the manapearls currency), then they’ll send you away to Silithus to get your neck upgraded.
After that you can get some quick 385 gear doing a bit of Nazjatar content/WQ, and then start on the Black Empire Questline (which is the newer content).
