So, we cleared up until mechagon during the week and thought we’d come back to do it again now on sunday. But the button isn’t there. What the hell? We killed the bosses during the week and had a few tries on the hardmode last boss but now when we come back, we can’t do it even though we did everything earlier in the week?
Mechagon hardmode can only be done within one go. In other words, even within a reset if you leave the dungeon and come back next day, the hardmode is gone.
Yep same thing happened to us, apparently you have to complete it before even a soft reset.
But I mean, this is clearly not how it’s supposed to be is it? Hope to see a fix on this soon because all the actual reward from doing hardmodes is by killing the final boss. Not being able to do so because raid time was starting and we decided to re-group the next day for the last boss doesn’t sound fair.
Why does it need to be this way? There’s no reasoning or precedence for this kind of thing.
More importantly, this is not communicated in any way to the players beforehand. Sure, now that I know about it, next time will plan ahead and not leave it unfinished. But that first run still went to waste (and unlike M+ this is a week-long lockout so a much bigger waste of time than the ~1 hour spent clearing up to Mechagon).
This is how it currently works. I am not sure why the restriction is in place but guildmates found out the hard way that it removes hardmode. They’d stopped to join the weekly raid and went back after to find hardmode was lost.
Umm, It’s called hardmode because the new mechanics require higher levels of co-ordination, awareness, teamwork and maybe some more ilvls in your gear to meet the dps requirement. Not because you can’t take a break and come back to clear later. M+ is the only content that is meant to be completed in one go with a stipulated timer.
And more importantly, why isn’t this communicated to players beforehand in any blue post regarding the new content? We’ve had tons of those in the lead up to 8.2.
It is, karazhan extra secret boss, which could be considered a hard more , had actually a time limit to unlock the Door and access Boss. It makes perfect sense for it to be that way. Thats why they’re called MEGA dungeons
