I played a BG last night that a frost mage totally demolished. I dont know which game or item level you are playing but every geared caster right now feels completely insane.

The answer is behind the people mind.
Two instant button hit, half health gone, is easier than greatly build a kill (for example as an affli or sh priest. )
This two is the most not played talents.
Edit: and beacuse much less caster class than melee 
Tbh playing melee / hunter is easier in general.
And that’s not me saying casters are weak, but if I do BGs I’ll have a much easier time demolishing people as ret than mage.
Like sure I can 1-2 shot people on my mage, but when I played ret I could remove half the enemy team in the time I could cast a frost bolt on the mage.
