Melee Specs from Easiest to Hardest for Arena

Out of pure curiosity, can somebone with knowledge of all melee DPS specs sort them from easiest to hardest ( including both skill floor and skill cap) for Arena?

As long as precog exists, every melee in this game will be max skillcap.

I would argue that DH and Ret are probably the easiest to learn in terms of skill-floor. With very little experience, you can get decent at both fairly quick. This is not to say that they don’t take skill to master of course, like with any class, but barrier for entry is lower.

I think Rogue is the melee class with the biggest gap between skillfloor and skill cealing. The difference between a mid Ret/DH and a great Ret/DH is smaller (comes down to peeling, CC management and CD preservation). The difference between a mid rogue and a great rogue is insane. You know immediately when you queue against a great rogue and it is painful, he will CC you out of the entire game and set up kills.

Easiest are the ones that all those scumbags are playing, hardest is the one that I’m playing.

The hardest is sub/outlaw/survival/feral in general, basically anything that require some kind of setup and team play to succeed.

No class in WoW is rocket science, easiest tends to just be whatever is the strongest. For example currently arms is easier to play than fury in terms of seeing success, however fury is a two button spec and on a mechanical level, something you can play close to optimally after 10 minutes but due to it being weaker than arms ( still in a good spot, just outshined ) it becomes “harder” to play.

Unholy dk is hardly rocket science but it has several resources to track and requires a fair bit of keybinds n pet management although dealing damage with unholy is pretty much just down to “i exist” but as unholy you can provide a ton of team utility which is how you´ll have the biggest impact on a game. You can still do perfectly fine in a huge majority of the games just being a damage bot which is why a big portion of the player base prefers playing melee, its simply more relaxing.

In summary, whatever is op is by default the easiest, if you´re purely interesting in easiest in terms of technical gameplay then go with whatever has the least utility n whos role is just based around dealing damage n letting your team deal with CC n utility.

easiest to play - Warrior, ret and DH hold the spot for the easiest in Arena

hardest to play - enhance shammy, Dev evoker, Survival hunt, Sub rogue, any healers

They melee with their tail.

Ret is the easiest. OP in every way. Can’t go wrong with it.
Most difficult is sv/feral.

Hot take.
Ret paladin and Demon hunter, feral and survival hunter share top place for easiest melee.
Then 2nd place is shared between unholy dk, fury warrior and sub / assa & Monk
3rd can go to frost, arms, outlaw and enhancement (cause being squishy blows)

Not in any particular order, just feel like ease of play easily lists something like that.

indeed , which make them most of the time not practical for 99% of the players in solo shuffle , with obviously exception of 1% that live their entire life in the arena and main that spec

The easiest is probably arms warrior because the only job you have is to sit glued to your target and press mortal strike, overpower and execute.

there is no hard spec in the game… the easiest might be fury war (but not the best atm). frost dk counts as easy but in solo shuffle you dont have the oneshot setup. but what makes a specc “hard” to play? amount of keybinds? enhance & unholy.

Playing fury feels like I’m low level and some skills not unlocked yet.
I must say fury should be the easiest. I’m playing it atm, just love those 2x 2 hand looks.

Easiest → Hardest to play (does not correlate to how strong it is actually)

Fury warr (easiest)
Havoc DH
Frost DK
Arms warr
Ret pala
Unholy DK
Assa rogue
Outlaw rogue
Feral druid
WW Monk
Enhance sham
SV hunter
Sub rogue (hardest)

This is my take. I rated melees with the most straightforward and intuitive playstyle as easiest, and ones that must do a lot of stuff to be effective, the hardest.

Cheers

Frost dks need perfect cleave setups to win, maybe it’s harderst.

It looks easy on paper but to win games u need to do cleave and set up stuff.

All other can just sit x1 target and win by faceroll.

True, the win condition is hard to achieve as frost DK, especially in random PVP. The rotation is fairly straightforward at least, so it’s easy to start with, hard to master

But i got legend last season as frost i am hoping to do it again, i won 5/6 first game atleast

As a collector i can’t miss out on x1 toy.
