Melee vs Ranged m+ Experience?

Ranged is easier in PvE content than melee?

I guess yes

Rangers don´t get AoE damage if they don´t avoid

Depends on the group constellation. Ranged players in a group with a holy Paladin (for example me) is less efficient than having melee classes in the group, because they receive less healing due to distance to me (Holy mastery buffs close range healing based on closer distance to the caster).

Melee is a lot easier, sure sometimes I gotta move out of melee range due to some aoe (or use one of my defensive CD’s and ignore it lmao melee life) meanwhile ranged get bombarded with a constant non stop barrage of swirlies they gotta dodge.

Welcome to the World of Rangedhuntarcraft. Pew Pew Pew :gun: :baby: :baby_bottle: :baby: :baby: :baby_bottle:

It depends on the content, if we are looking at it from a raid perspective or from a specific dungeon.

I played both, and my personal opinion is that melee is easier to play by miles, with the exception of bosses where a mechanic makesit unfavorable to have a lot of melee (council raid encounter for example).

Melee tend to have much less mechanics to deal with.

Really depends on content, group comp, boss mechanics etc. Traditionally, range has been considered easier, this expansion though seems to have a lot melee friendly bosses, particularly in the raid!

Play whatever you’re better at!

Melee: Zug zug no cast, big damage, Oh I gotta move? Do it while smashing 123 rotation.
The amount off cleave abilities is prety low in current M+ dungeon pool.

Casters: Casting for 50 hours, Oh I gotta move? Interrupt cast and start over with no damage dealt.
The amount of swirleys and nonsense flying on ranged characters is absolutely insane.
Hunter: Delete this class

This xpack is World off Meleecraft.
If you want a fun experience, don’t go ranged.

I always found ranged much easier.
A lot of ranged classes have to channel at least some spells to make it a bit harder for them.
Visually i also find it a bit more chaotic to be in melee, especially if a lot of things are happening.

But in reality it depends.
Melee often have the time to move away from damage spells and still be able to go through their rotations.
Where as sudden movements can trash a ranged players DPS.

Melee is more reactive and ranged are more about pre planning and positioning.

I found ranged easier cuz i never played with melee

Hahaha god yes. There’s still stuff to avoid but my casters are massively easier to play in raids than my melees.

Depends on the class to an extent as well though

Really depends on situation and what is going on.
In m+ there is a lot of anti melee mechanics going on that makes it easier to be ranged, but those mechanics that is good for melee tend to be real bad for ranged.

In general i would say it is easier to be ranged simply because you have more space to do mechanics that needs to be done and still do what you need to do.

But it really depends on the situation what is going on.

having played my mage a bit now i think wizards seem easier most of the time. way more to dodge and position for in melee. early nokhud area very sad for my mage tho that was hard.

Puny, you create little green crowns now when you reply in a thread
Green king/queen confirmed!
Goblin when?

In my opinion ranged is easier but depends on class. The completely immobile classes that need to cast 24/7 are having a terrible time, anyone with a good amount of instant cast is fine.

Melee has way easier time to pump out damage, but have to deal with more mechanics usualy than ranged → which on paper doesnt make realy that much sense but after trying both…your entire toolkit as melee is instants…so just by the sheer fact that as caster you actualy have to stand and cast making it …not harder…but more frustrating to play. For example tanks running with mobs, going into the line of sight and also this expansion blizzard tried realy hard to make sure these melee mechanics hit ranged too…some of them seems to even prefer players on ranged…which has turned m+ into a swirlie - dodge simulator that makes casting hell on earth.

Just imho.
