I would like to emphasise some kind of change for enhancement shamans gear/dps options. Especially when it comes to weapon choices, drop rates relative to the amount of available options. For example, in phase one I was playing every single raid reset without the stray dropping, it took me 6-7 weeks before I got the drop from CoS HC in phase two. This also applies to several others. In this phase I’m still looking for Caress of Insanity, I’ve played every week, every single raid. Played with an ilvl200 weapon trough the whole phase and it’s soon ending. Other classes get more weapons choices and some are also less gear dependent related to performance compared to enhancement shamans. Could you either do something with drop rates for coming phases, or change spell weapon/physical 2.7/2.6 speed on some weapons. Since synched speed is required for optimal gameplay. Buff WF imbue slightly so it becomes more useful than in its current state.
According to early simulations of dps classes for future phases you can see enhancement shamans are pushed down the ladder risking being less wanted for raids then in current state. You buffed ret paladins, ferals and so forth. Enhancement now got the hardest rotation more or less in WOTLK, in addition to being a melee in terms of mechanics. It should be rewarded in in terms of dps. Doing a minor WF weapon imbue buff or do something with itemisation, options would help many players.
I think they have enough actual problems to fix rather than give certain meme player made problems like spellhance etc a quality of life update by allowing them a ton of extra items to get.
Even so Enhance had quite the share of decent weapons in this tier, when it came to 25m at least.
Sometimes it sucks but it is the way it is with drops.
Enhance honestly doesn’t need anything, they already got buffed in 3.4.1 with Fire Elemental that reset every fight.
The only thing that would be nice is to change caster weapon speed so we can have a 2.6 slow caster weapon in TOGC and ICC. That wouldn’t change anything at all overall in term of balance, and make the gameplay better by adding gameplay with lightning bolt weaving. This increase DPS a little bit but it’s so marginal like 3% DPS if you weave, if you don’t weave it would be only 1% due to more flametongue damage with slower weapon.
This will never happen. Don’t expect Blizzard to change weapon speed of caster just for us, nerd Enh. I don’t think people would be against that because they really like Enh (in contrast of Warrior or Feral that everyone mad, I don’t understand why people hate Feral so hard). We have the hardest rotation in game and a dumb Fire Elemental that like to hit useless target or enter black hole by himself, but we still pump.
Yeah try playing a Fury Warrior, monitoring your rage bar and swing timers so you can track Greatness and snapshot weave Rend before it drops off, and then also tracking taste for blood procs to weave Overpower while cancelling HS because you aligned your GCD with the autoswing of specifically the offhand so after overpowering the offhand lands 0.1s after you’re back in berserkers stance you and don’t rage starve your next bloodthirst.
All to do 50 more dps while competing with Ret over who is the worst melee.
I’m not sure if blizzard is into weaving.
Sometimes it’s hard to say, though. They went out of their way to keep seal weaving in TBC, but removed bearweaving and made fun of other types of weavings in Wrath.
Enh need to track flame shock dot & cd, earth shock cd, stormstrike stack & cd, lava lash cd, lavalash idol proc duration, raid buff totems range & duration, magma totem every 20s, 2 trinkets proc, wolf pet and ask for BoK when they are summoned, using 2 different potion, playing with 700 haste buffed and is gcd starved not limited by ressource, while snapshotting fire ele at start with full proc and doing a 2nd lust post-pull for pets. All of that while syncing weapon every time they are desync to have same speed swing timer, and using that power to cast lightning bolt or chain lightning in-between autoattack with maelstrom stack that act like combo points between 1 and 5. We also use 3 weapons with swap in combat and maintain lightning shield when it fall off.
Not saying Warrior isn’t hard, but the ceiling of Enh is definitely higher imo.
