Who cares? Does it diminish your fun?
This RTWF malarkey isn’t like it used to be. They’re professionals, and they have so many resources. Ordinary people can’t complete the game if you require these to take months. I have my thoughts here, but suffice to say, designing the game around RTWF is a road to hell paved with good intentions.
Who cares?
About 10% ish of the playerbase will ever get past 4/9 mythic. If even that percentage. You’re looking at the top tier players.
If the top tier players would take months to get 9/9 then normal people would never have a shot at it.
Be reasonable.
Yes, and i also remember people complaining the raids were overtuned. Including world first raiders.
This is such a stupid post.
a) You saw with classic, that majority of the raids lasted for 1-2 hours max. They were just so easy.
b) Who cares about 5 guilds pushing RWF? It’s beyond me how people really think these 100 people are the standard for anything else.
Tbh its not entirely true either.
Preach actually did a video debunking the concept it was the raid itself that took weeks for completion. There were lots of factors around it.
1 being back then stuff wasnt timegated so WF had alot more too it then just entering the raid lol
Raid content used to last weeks if not months because it was a bunch of people doing their hobby on the side of holding down full time jobs and they’d raid when they could. It’s a huge difference from today’s RWF. Some are full time streamers/content creators and others book time off work/take time out of their studies to go at the content non stop. Many of the top teams are set up in one location. It’s a big sponsored commercial affair. They are professional gamers.
When Classic was launched the modern approach of gaming also meant it didn’t last very long. They weren’t all max level either.
Apes claim world-first Ragnaros & Onyxia kills in WoW Classic less than one week after launch
You can’t go back to a time when everyone was more casual. Unless you invent a time machine.
I have never understood why people even try to compare stuff from 2004 to 2023 its like night and day from how game worked to how internet was or have people completely forgot that stuff like youtube didn’t exist and there really was no real sites at all that you could go and read how and what to do in raids.
There also was no weeks to months of training part in beta/ptr in molten core days like there is nowadays.
It’ll last months or even years for you. Don’t worry.
Ah, Dejarous posted on my thread. My life is complete.
Nobody cares what tryhards do.
What matters is if hundreds of thousands od people enjoy RAID
I can agree with that.
Tryhards do.
It is. I just didn’t dive into details. Puny explained it pretty nicely, and I could still add certain arguments.
Old raids were gated by a million things, and modern raids aren’t gated by anything - you can just walk into it and it’s done. There’s a million articles / addons helping everywhere, technology is different, game is known etc.
OPs arguments are rubbish whether he likes it or not - maybe 10-15 guilds push their rosters to the absolute limit (which for me, is one of the dumbest things ever - I will never understand the joy of squeezing 5-6 months worth of content into 1, max 2 weeks, and burning out the people for absolute no reason, if you count out the sponsor / event money, which is another story ofcourse). Rest of the people, enjoy the raids for far more long.
I ment gated by time. Not additional mechanics.
Old WoW didnt delay near as much content as today so the WF race now starts when the gates open. Instead of when u walk in
Hence why things like molten core got to 154 days WF. Because it included the levelling period and gearing period aswell as clearinf the raid itself.
Where todays WF. Is only the time taken inside the raid itself. Split raids extends it abit but no qhere near all that stuff haha
I also don’t get it, literally who cares.
Yea they are killing the bosses faster than when wow came out, the skill of players is far superior than it was a few years ago.
Is he trying to suggest that classic content was more difficult? Because that’s an omegalol.
Case in point - BWL and MC being cleared within 1-2 hours in Classic. xD
Basically.
That’s very optimistic, i’d be amazed if 10% of the playerbase ever set foot in mythic raids at all, let alone progress beyond the first few bosses.
But you’re right, the RWF-crowd is so far ahead from the rest of the players that tuning for RWF to take months would make things impossible for most of the rest…
