Memory access violation immediately upon launching game

Game was fine earlier in the day. When I returned a few hours later I launched wowup-cf and did the following:

  • installed Candy Buckets addon.
  • updated RIO addon.
  • updated CraftSim addon.

Now, the moment I click on the Play button, I get that exception, before the game window is even created. This leads me to believe it has nothing to do with addons, but I did remove all three addons I listed as well as some others which are a little outdated. Also rebooted and performed a repair/scan. And of course checked my usual go-to game for these sorts of things, CP2077, and all is well.

Often I go afk for prolonged periods and my desktop PC goes to sleep, but the game handles it gracefully, only crashing once since tww launched. Maybe something got corrupted this time? I really don’t want to have to reinstall…

edit: this is on Win11, 7800X3D, 7900XTX, 64GB RAM.
edit2: reinstalling the game fixed it.

Same here, will try reinstalling the game and will let you know if that helped for others.

Any joy? I’m still totally locked out of any form of wow, even after reinstalling B-net, wow and Addons.
