I got excited that we are getting cross-faction group system. Could we get economy / auction house merge as well as cross-faction guilds? I don’t want to scatter my characters on different servers, I like my server but having alliance characters on Draenor just sucks… the faction is so dead and auction house is super mehh.

Yes, we need to move towards it because the population balance went down the drain.
In order to give players the best experience possible, the player populations need to be merged. But the factions themselves in lore need not.
We can still keep having Alliance and Horde stories based on your selection on the character select screen. But, you should be able to play with whoever you want. Honestly, some mmo’s such as the old republic have done this for years. I don’t feel it diluted faction identity at all, but it sure improved the game experience. Honestly, i look at players by their class. That is all i’d see tbh. Is it a goat or a cow? I really hardly notice.

AH has been cross faction since vanilla (through goblin AH).
Mailing is faction restricted save for account bound stuff.
Crossfaction guilds are not OK from my perspective. Same as cross faction grouping, but the QQers won here I guess.
What’s next? Gnomes in Orgrimmar? Ugh.
We’re opposing factions, make war, not love.

If anything there should be a new third faction and more WAR in World of WARcraft, more faction identity and pride.
If you disagree you can either go play some other game or just sit at the kiddie table with Anduin or something.
Where is gigachad Garrosh when you need him? Give us back PvP servers too so I can kill filth whenever I see it!
Real faction merge cant really be realistically done for technical and thematic reasons.
Imagine being a Night elf and being send in Stonetalons to slaughter your own people in a quest in the name of the Horde. Imagine the number of quest they will have to reimagine/merge or the amount of instanced content that will cause problems, like Garrisons or Throne of thunder faction camps.
I think that we wont have this ever, but i dont see why cross-fraction guild would be an issue, specially if they remove the concept of Hall of Fame by faction. This concept should be removed anyway. It only caused frustration on both factions.
There’s currently 23 guilds that got it while Horde one was filled like a week or two ago.
Hall of Fame - Alliance should be removed and we should get cross faction guilds.
Why they have this if one of the competitors doesn’t have enough bodies to fill the classification within a reasonable amount of time?
I changed to Alliance this week and so far I can ask myself how people manage to play this faction for so long? Alliance is completely dead for relatively high end content.
It’s not a new thing unfortunatly, since BFA, the Alliance fills his Hall of Fame like 3-5 week later than Horde, with sometimes Horde guild that comes to help or in the case of Nya’lotha when there was a chinese guild that was boosting other guilds to fill it. Even worse, the Crucible in 8.1 had never been filled on Alliance side, causing cross realm mythic to only open at the start of 8.2.

^^ This. I think the change came in, in WoD but I’d have to double check.
Retributor is on Draenor and has frequently boasted of making plenty of gold selling to the Horde as an Alliance character.
BfA kinda folded that idea and threw it in the bin. The Horde is literally an Alliance proxy state, it makes no sense for the factions to be separated.
Merging faction wont solve anything. An example Alliance has 40 healers 20 tanks 200dps and horde has the same tank , healer shortage so now it 80 healers 40 tanks and 400dps.
I might be wrong and if so its still not going to change anything.
Is there any tank shortage? I haven’t noticed in this season as alliance. I rather have problem to find healer atm.
I did play healer in s2 and tank now in s3, and the keys do often fill their tank spot asap.
Lets band together and make and Elf faction. Night Elves, Nightborne, Blood Elves, Void Elves, High Elves, San’layn, and Sea Elves (nagas) with Azshara as the defacto leader.

Third faction.
Orcish is exclusive to horde races. Orcs can now speak Mag’har as there own special language.
Humans now have Tiran, as there own race from kultiran. And all aliance now speak Stormwindian, I duno I can’t think of something cool.
Common becomes a universal language that both sides speak
You can now choose what side you want to play like toggling war mode. Horde/Alliance or neutral.
You can choose to allow neutral or own faction only.
This has always been a secret dream of mine, and let’s be honest, it’s only the non-elves who will argue against it because they can’t live without us!

This will never happen my Tauren friend. I, as a goblin will defend our city from gnomes at all cost.
Other races are welcome though.
