Metamorphosis nerfed? And why Night Fae "the hunt" when it could have been Venthyr or Maldraxus

For a while now we’ve been playing with 2min metamorphosis cd. Before we needed to use a pvp talent for this but it always felt like a waste, but metamorphosis also feels really bad to use when it’s a 4 min cd, it barely feels like our “ultimate” if you will, as 4 min it’s just too long for it to be reliable in any way.

After we got nerfed, I felt like this was a nice small qol improvement we could recieve, as taking this as a pvp talent always feels terrible as I need others so much more. If a fight goes on longer than 2 min, I really feel like I should get Metamorphosis back, and without having to replace my 2 dot removals or rain from above.

Now the talent has been returned to pvp and 4min cd again… Please, please, please can we just have this baselined as I feel it makes DH so much nicer to play and I hate having to have it take up a whole pvp talent.

Especially after leech has been nerfed, I really feel like we need this oh sh** button more often to give us moments to comeback when the sh** hits the fan. 4 min cd just makes this so bad to use.

And after realising Venthyr doesn’t apply sinful brand when I eye beam metamorphosis :frowning: and you made Night Fae the best pvp covenant and you thought you’d put Venthyr mogs not behind the best pvp ability. Seriously… why though. Is this some kind of internal joke, or do you really think pvp players are going to prefer full Night Fae mogs compared to Venthyr? When you look at the gladiator mount it really doesn’t seem this way. I almost feel like blizz are just laughing at DH with putting “the hunt” behind Night Fae. Maldraxus or Venthyr would have been much more undertsandable covenant to give “the hunt” ability to, given the class fantasy of DH. Why our class fantasy is being ruined by Night Fae I really don’t know, whoever is in charge of this decision really does not understand DH audience or the lore of wow even. Go spend 5 mins in the class order hall then tell me Night Fae is the correct covenant choice for DHs most aggresive pvp orientated covenant ability. In what world does it line up that Maldraxus and Venthyr were not the clear choices for such a badass ability like “the hunt”? Mogs should have never been tied to covenant choice.

Please, it’s time to stop… nerfing DH

Baseline Demonic Origins please. Why did you give us this then take it away when you are nerfing us so hard on leech and stuff :frowning: please blizz…

It makes pvp talent picking feel clunky and horrible and it makes using Metamorpohosis horrible and boring and it doesn’t feel part of my rotation at all…

P.S. Put “the hunt” ability on Venthyr and make it red, then put Venthyr ability on Maldraxus, then put Maldraxus ability in the bin along with Kyrian because spending tons of hours creating something that probably 2% of DH will use I think is probably not worth it. There I fixed it.

P.P.S Other than this so far SL has actually been amazing, love the story, world and quests. Feels kinda lonely though… No lag or bugs though. Pvp changes were amazing. Lots of love, fix my class, thanks bye x

I have the same problem with Kyrian for Vengeance. Thematically it couldn’t be further away from what Demon Hunters really are. But Elysian Decree is so far ahead of everything else it’s a joke. I tested Venthyr, but Sinful Brand is just underwhelming at the moment. Yes the AoE is uncapped, but you can only apply it every 3 or 4 minutes. The regular Sinful Brand does less damage on single target than Elysian Decree (with the conduit), has almost no defensive value and no interaction with talents or legendaries.

I know the other covenants are viable, as there are already Vengeance keystone masters who are Venthyr and Night Fae, but no matter how you look at it you are gimping yourself by not playing Kyrian, which is exactly what Blizzard said they didn’t want. Hopefully the underperforming covenants gets some tuning soon.

I strongly disagree. My Blue boys sacrifice everything to ascend just to safely ferry the souls of the lost. (A bit dramatic but I try to bring across a point here xD)

I wished to go Maldraxxus but that ability is just Garbage. Even if they omega buffed it it would still be anything but a cool ability.

But beside that i think Kyrian is a good fit for my DH from every possible view I can imagine.

Ok, fair enough. But I still don’t like Kyrian for my DH, but I feel like I have to pick them because of the huge gap down to #2.

And yeah, wtf did they do with Necrolord ability? I think they’ll just end up changing it so you don’t have to kill the demon at all, but it’s just instantly sacrificed. Even if it dies fast with throw glaive, it’s still super clunky. And Flesh craft needs to be instant cast, or just at least work like a “HoT” you put on yourself that builds the shield over a few seconds. Channeling it for 4 seconds removes your ability to dodge and parry, which is a no-go for tanks.

Fleshcraft is not that big of a problem. You always channel it pre fight since it lasts 2 min anyway or in low damage/mechanics phases of the boss.
Does not make it more usefull compared to phial of serenity which is straight up better in every scenario that matters.

The big problem of fodder to the flame is its lack of engagement.

Lets compare it to other similar effects that add a % dmg increase:
Deathborne (Mage ability)
More dmg and cleave on filler

Warrior Flag
Ok this one is bad but it buffs the group so at least everybody gets excited when the warrior drops it except himself xD
It is hated by warriors like DH hate Fodder so yeah…

Kindred Spirits (druid)
It is fun since both players use cds at the same time and it feels rewarding in that sense and has a lot of uses since you can help out your tank etc too.

You get the idea. They all provide more than a simple % damage increase (i know 10% dmg reduce but meh). That was the reason why Nemesis got removed. And they bring it back in the form of fodder to the flame. Now that I think about it, it is really sad.

Just wait until The Hunt’s damage gets slashed by 50% in PvP like what happened to Bastion Rogues.

Blizzard already started with these nerfs and Hunt is 99% somewhere on the line, its just a matter of time.

15-20k crits from a single ability isn’t healthy anyway. And i don’t like the whole fight be ended in like 1 ability cast: its boring when it works, and you feel useless when it doesn’t…

Are they though? Kyrians are all about servitude and duty, that sounds fitting for us, we made a choice to become a living weapon, our goal and duty is all we have left.

They are just a very big miss aesthetically withall the blue and white stuff

This is what I actually meant in my first post. It was just poorly worded. Kyrian feels like it’s made for Priests and Paladins (Maybe warrior…?) from the way they look. Couldn’t be further away from DH with their Holy/Angelic theme.

Angelic? They do not strike me as angelic nor holy, (wings excluded)… more like a bunch of know-it-all that urge people to forget and move on, like… real spiritual guides

I am telling you other classes just use their core abilities to hit 10k. In example starsurge, feracious bite, eviscerate, rising sun kick etc. I dont see why our only burst will be nerfed we need this burst otherwise we will not be able to do anything in pvp.

Those are likely to get nerfed too. I’m not disagreeing that we need The Hunt, its just that Blizzard will likely nerf it regardless of how much we rely on it to be competitive…

Hopefully we will see some buffs in other areas soon

I agree with the previous post that 15k crit doesn’t sound healthy and I’d rather an actual skill based play style that involves pressing other buttons than a one hit one shot one trick that makes everyone hate us again for being too easy.

People are using insta defensives after-before The Hunt so without proper setup you are not only dealing enough damage to land to kill or really forcing enemy at all because healers top them below 1 second. They should delete Fire Mages if we dont want any burst in the game. The Hunt is very foreseenable skill so I don’t see any harm to maintain it, 1 %50 hp dmg every 1.5min and still you cant kill the enemy and it doesnt crit every time. I beat nearly ever class on sustained dmg in pvp but still lose.

I would much rather my actual spec/class do the damage, instead of the Covenant ability.
