Can someone remind me again which guild does usually test the raids first before they get released and know because of that all the tricks about how mechanics can work and be even avoided on some fights ?

Not Method and not any of the guilds that are participating in World First are doing internal testing for Blizzard, the PTR is available to everyone, get a clue…

I did hear differently, but ok, I was just wondering….

Even though I don’t need a blue to confirm that this is the case because it’s just silly for the people that do need it, there you go.

Congrats to Method. As for the naysayers ranting about a corporate sponsored team winning, look at it this way. Method had to work hard to go out and get those corporate sponsors. They were once a team that was not sponsored, that went out and played well enough to get all the sponsors they have. Their rewards are from their hard work they put into the game s that play, including WOW.

I was about to say there are blue posts when raid testing is available on the PTR and most of the wow news sites also spread that info.

But that post covers it all. Ty

Let’s see either Method or another EU guild kill her for world second as well to -really- rub the salt in the wounds of salty NA.

Yes Americans have less holidays and free time than the people in some European countries do have, work more and don’t have as many professional players in WoW as the EU has, which explains a bit why European teams also have certain advantage over theirs in this game.

Ironic seeing how the US team is the one which spent the most bucks in preparation for this.

Reminds me of those late eighties/early nineties sports movies where one team is the under dog and the rival team are super wealthy, or have high up connections in the league.

I congratulate Method. That was an insanely hard competition, and they nailed it.

But the idea that they spent less is dubious. After the kill, Josh said that Method were in debt to the tune of about 100 million gold. At 180K/Token, that’s about 550 Tokens. 550 times 20 Euros is 11,000 Euros. Convert to Dollars @1.14 is about $12,500.

We could argue all day about the Token price US vs. EU, and which Token value to take, and all that, but since Limit also paid for their transfers and changes in gold, and we don’t know the exact numbers anyhow, there’s no point. I think it’s safe to say that both guilds not only put massive effort into their attempts, but spent a fortune in gold as well - gold they will re-earn from boosts and stuff, sure, but still it seems just a regular part of the World First race.

It’s not like each of them only picks 1 investment. Limit’s transfers is on top of everything else like stacking runes, BoEs, etc.

Which, in the end of the day worked out, since Limit did start the raid with a higher ilvl. (despite method having higher heart level)

And not only that, but Limit also kept going quite cocky and bm on twitter, so I gotta say I enjoyed that they ate their own words.

Even more ironic is the fact that Method streamed their race, and made a lot of cash from those streams.

Ehm, Method is an esport corporation as well as a guild under the same name. Scot’s girlfriend talked about it during the World first race.

Oh come on, don’t be such a downer… :expressionless:

It’s true that alliance is hilariously underrepresented in the very high end raiding scene. In fact, alliance has a 5% representation in the top 20 guilds right now. That still does not take away from the fact that Method did an amazing job though.

Gz to Method for their world first.
