Method is back!

The whole video is about doing better but they gloss over what happened.

The issue as I see it:

Something happened.

Police looked at it and decided there’s not enough evidence to prosecute.
Method (Sco) accepts that and carried on as if nothing happened.

So people found out so why not say he’s innocent and stand by him.

Instead when it was made public they dumped him.

So either they just threw him under the bus or they knew his wrongdoing but didn’t care because it was better for the guild/company that he continues to work for them.

Either way no real repentance. Just a weak attempt at damage limitation.

Changing the name is not going to make people forget the past, never will, but its the only real way to build from the ground, any future google search’s for Method are always going to bring up these allegations THAT should be the first thing you would want to change, starting a business with a tarnished name is the worst possible thing you could do and tbh I find it quite insulting for the victims pretty sure they never want to see that name ever again.

they are a group of people who KNEW about a sexual offender and sexual predator and did nothing.
some of them who confirmed knew are still working there.

i wish they are out of this game forever. i dont want people like them around me.

*do you really expect me to believe that a bunch of players who play together like 12 hours a day and at times spend 24/7 together dont know these kind of things ? dont you think they dont see josh bringing a 13 years old to his hotel room ?
give me a break…

I’m one of those people who don’t care if they are back. People who follow guilds are worse than those who follow streamers in my opinion.

i follow asmongold. i think its stupid but its also funny to listen to.

It’s funny until you put them in a position of power.

What you are arguing is that it would make their life easier for a new start, and I agree. My point is that the easier choice is often not the right choice. I’d rather them have a harder time with the old name than try an easy way out from their past with a new one.

I don’t know how victims consider Method and I’m not going to assume. I see how it could be the case though.

The problem with this is no matter what way they went about their “comeback” it was always going to attract more debate on what initially caused the whole thing, who were in the wrong and what decisions should have been made at the time.

They were always going to end up in a lose/lose situation, they will never be what they once were before regardless of how they portray their new image now and going forward.

Those who left and formed Echo are no better after being complicit for a long time and acting like they knew nothing. They sat and listened to Josh openly talk about his scenario, kept quiet and didn’t question Method’s management on why so little was done with regards to this.

I agree, to some extent they’re just as bad as each other though.

I’ve watched some streams from many different streamers, ranging from the ever so hated Asmongold to small streamers carrying single digit viewer counts. I’d never got into that state of being a diehard follower to any of them, nor have I ever used any of my own money to “support” them.

It doesn’t matter how much wrong some of the more well known streamers/guilds do or how complicit they are in various scenarios (like the ex Method guys) people are still willing to place them on a pedestal and throw their money at them. More fool them for being idiots and following questionable people like fanboys/fangirls.

I don’t watch any streams now and haven’t done so for quite a while.

This is what Echo have done after being complicit on the whole situation before.

Which ever way you want to look at it, Sco’s first and foremost priority is to profit and monetise the name/brand, always has been always will be its never been about the right choice, the actions they took, didn’t take, coverups, internal investigations etc money as always been the priority and continues to be so. There is only so much milk you can get from a cow, there comes a point when its time to get a new cow.

I have known a few people who were sexually abused, several under-age, and it’s bloody awful, so thanks to everyone making noise about it, especially those who didn’t suffer from it directly. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

agree, those who have suffered don’t get to pass it off as a mistake, why should Method

guys I completely missed this method drama thing, can someone please tell me really really fast what happened, and why this big anouncement of their return

TLDR. Sco anouncing their “rebuilding” and making changes, but reality is its all the same people at the top, their just trying to remonetise and clean the name.

Can not thank you enough for saying that after being abused myself as a child ,many years later the memories are still there .

A person called Josh essentially sexually abused people who were younger than the age of consent. Concerns were raised with Method management and they (at best) didn’t give it the serious attention it deserved and (at worst) swept it under the rug.

Theres a decent amount of twitch clips that were creepy and should have served as big red flags.
Josh was also banned from twitch for suspect behaviour and theres one clip during the world first race where Josh had an open mic and the Method team were all yelling “Josh, Josh!” to shut him up. Their excuse was that he was banned on twitch so wasn’t allowed to be heard. But it just happened to be that he was talking about the police investigation into him kinda putting to bed the fantasy that the rank and file raiders were in the dark about the whole thing.

Dont forget it was more than just one allegation there was multiple plus there was a predator in their management too, in fact co ceo, there were many victims some even gave detailed statements to the fact.
Sadly the vast majority of sexual abuses, sexual harassments go unreported, these however were internally well known about for quite sometime and not acted upon.

You may disagree but I’m chalking the Co-CEO stuff down to socially awkward nerds that didn’t know how to pick up on signs or actually speak about how the interactions made one party feel uncomfortable.

There may be more to it than that and if there is I’m sorry. But to me it felt like something that could have been sorted out by the 2 parties speaking to each other rather than a smear campaign over twitter.

This is true , although one well known streamers statement concerning this sealed the deal for me and can not even try to comprehend just the strength to write that must have taken, I know one thing for sure that’s with her for life now and not something that can be shrugged off as a “mistake”

For Method concerning the Josh allegations this was not just one persons “mistake” that could’ve been forgiven to a point, this however was a joint effort with all management and maybe more to hide.

Careful though - by having that kind of rational opinion here, you will be attacked because god forbid you should ever care more for yourself, and own entertainment, in an entertainment industry.

Showing that you clearly dont have interest in something that doesnt effect you, makes you the bad guy here.

something really really disgusting. including rape underage and sexual assaults by 2 different people, cover-ups and police investigation that resulted with “no evidence found”.

one of the problems here (in my opinion) is that they used their position of power to do those things, which is why it was ‘in consent’.
