In the end, all that matters is results. Sponsorships would flock to them pretty fast if they get the world first.
Maybe. In real-life sports itâs definitely true and even huge scandals get swept under the rug quite fast.
The problem now for them is that there will always be a stigma to that brand and recruiting players just got alot harder.
Possibly, but starting off by trying to revive a dead horse is not the way to do it.
I really doubt that. Just think for yourself - you get a chance to play WoW and get paid for it, would you really decline?
and be associated with a brand that protected an alleged baby diddler? Iâll take my chances with Pieces instead.
No chance. No company is going to attach themselves to any company with sexual misconduct allegations, particularly if one of the accused still owns the company.
PR suicide in the current political climate.
Why not? And what would you suggest as alternative? Personally, Iâd rather prefer them being transparent about from where they come from compared to trying to hide behind a new name and brand.
Donât hate the players, hate blizzard for being unable to make Alliance an attractive faction to play.
Ok, I grant you that you probably have a job you like. But there are a lot of players that would take the opportunity without even thinking.
Thinks its abit late to be âtransparentâ , judgment by the community as already been passed months ago. The lack of immediate response from them at the time made that clear, obviously time they needed to get their storyâs straight.
Lets be honest Method, the guild, the brand is permanently tarnished and always will be.
Iâd accept that I had my chance a blew it. There is no round 2 when you neglected to take allegations of a high profile kiddy fiddler in your organisation seriously.
Iâd argue that even the fact that they are trying to fix this shows how err âunseriouslyâ they are still taking it.
Again, if you consider them âirredeemableâ and that said judgement is never going to change, itâs a fair position but I beg to differ.
IMHO they are not irredeemable and if they show that they have become worth of getting support again, the judgement should change accordingly, but I can see others being unwilling to give them any second chance.
Changing the name would be the first call if they were genuinely going to start over.
This is easy to say in hindsight, but at that time what they knew was that there was an investigation by the police which the police then decided to drop.
Should they have been more cautious? Sure, but letâs not picture the situation as if there was clear and undeniable evidence against Josh at that time, because that was not the case.
This is what irks me about this.
You can literally see the cogs whirring in Scoâs head where hes weighing up the brand recognition vs. the pain of building up a new name.
It strikes me as a cynical calculation rather than a heartfelt attempt to âfixâ things.
If Iâm ever in court I hope its people like you in the jury rather than people like me
I disagree: it would mean they want to try to forget the past. They should not try to forget the past: they should learn from the past to become better.
I think a court would be better served with both.
I also donât really want Echo to succeed either, since this was a massive cover-up by loads of people, some of them donât get to scutter off and remake their guild as the new âwholesome totally not full of abuse cover-uppersâ guild.
I hope Method and Echo both end up failing.
